Anyone having issues updating your zumo xt gps (garmin)

Anyone having issues updating your zumo xt? I have a zumo xt and I've installed garmin express on two of my Macs. I plug in my zumo to the USB port and it stays stuck on searching for updates. This happens on both Macs. The app does not seem frozen, but something clearly isn't working as it never comes back with suggested updates.

If your Zumo is connected to wifi, it can update without the computer. But, you'll have to update the maps on basecamp, too. Call the tech support at Garmin and they will call you back and are very helpful.

The simple answer to your question is YES. I've had trouble with Garmin Express and updating my Zumo, but tech support was able to educate me and get things going again.

Thank you! I tried express a couple of more times and then used wifi and it completed within a couple of hours. My XT required several software and map updates. All good.

Basecamp will only work with the Zumo XT maps on the device while connected.
No idea why Garmin is playing games like this but they are.

I updated my Zumo XT and called Garmin when I encountered that particular problem. There was already a service ticket on it when I called, and they are working on it. It's actually a change that happened to Garmin Express. The Garmin tech gave me a work around and I now have the latest maps installed in BaseCamp. The work around was to update the maps on my Nuvi, and Express allowed me to download both to the Nuvi and the computer. Once the maps are on the computer, BaseCamp can use them.

I just got this response from Garmin about my service ticket:

Thank you for contacting Garmin International. Garmin Express version 7.6.0 was released for both Windows and Mac computers. With this new version, we've restored the ability to install the City Navigator map from your zumo XT to your computer. After updating Garmin Express, follow the steps in FAQ Installing Maps to the Computer Using Garmin Express to install the map to the computer.
