• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Top rack luggage bag, which one?

I'm worried about rubbing like this happening.
I would only load a bag with anything on the trunk rack for extra storage during a trip.
I've bumped jackets to the trunk rack of my Road Glide and ended up with rubs, and the Harley paint is HARDER than that on the Spyder.

Anyone have a wrap on the trunk lid and then install the rack?

I haven't installed my BPR rack, wanted a black rack, yet, as researching the wrap first.

Shadow71, I have now purchased a wrap from Wrapmyspyder to install on the lid. Just waiting on the weather to warm up before I install it. Recommended 70 degrees or higher to install.

I don't have a trunk rack and tour without the bride, but based on many hundreds of miles of bicycle touring in heavy rain I would recommend a simple dry bag. I am very partial to the Ortlieb brand but it appears they no longer produce them. In such case I suggest Firstgear, https://www.cyclegear.com/accessories/firstgear-torrent-duffle-bag?gclid=CjwKCAjwu5CDBhB9EiwA0w6sLYtLfw1js_dSlEEKqrzvgzxirELB9QtU-v_m35iqehgL_afiRWC59RoC1BwQAvD_BwE&sku_id=1653774, that come in three sizes and Bajaron sells them at prices that probably beat Cycle Gear and he's a SL sponsor.

I too have done days in the rain. My favorite is an old Army pack (without frame) and surplus waterproof bag inside. It has never leaked but not as pretty as some of the $3-500 commercial waterproof bags. Now, with this S2S model, it has custom bags with it so I probably won't need my old pack.

In 2001 Ortlieb USA advertised their loaded dry bags would float. Bicycling across the country that summer I threw mine in which I carried my camping gear into the Lochsa River in ID and it did in fact float; and not a drop leaked into the bag.

I used to white water kayak, and we went down rivers every weekend. I had a Baja dry bag, and I’d actually floated it behind the yak on calm water. Nothing ever got wet. I like the cycle gear idea but I am just afraid of it tearing if I put a bungee mesh over it. Also, it has no shape. Afraid if I put 2 helmets inside it then it won’t be solid. We used a duffle bag last year and bungie net over it with our heavy jackets under it. Sometimes we’d wear the jackets, and bungie wrapped the dunce helmets over it. I like the idea of using it as the rain cover though. I’d actually use the Saddlemen inside the dry bag, so that it doesn’t buff the paint.

Do you have any problem with the weight, ThreeWherls? My RT says 15lbs in the top case and 5lbs on the rack. It seems I can't even put 2 pairs of Klim pants in a bag without going over that weight.
