• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

North Carolina Spyders

Welcome!

Just moved here from Wis. and loving the weather. We'll be closing on our home in Newton on Jan. 24th. Looking for some rides to learn more about N.C.

Welcome! I'm up in the NE corner of NC. We're about an hour from the Outer Banks, which is always a great ride, especially in good weather, and during the "off season". You may also want to consider a ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I've only done it in a car, but this summer, I'll be taking the Spyder. Its an incredible road with fantastic scenery, lots ot twists and turns...made for a Spyder! You'll find a myriad of great places to ride in NC, and some organized rides from time to time. Keep checking the NC forums...

Welcome to NC. I am located in the Raleigh area. Check out the local group on facebook (triangle spyder riders). We do a lot of riding. I have 3 rides scheduled for this year to the NC/Tenn./Va mountains. We will be going towards the end of April, Mid June, and the spyder rally in October. As time progresses, we will be posting. Always welcome to have more come along.

I was just at the Iron Butt Rallye conclusion in Minneapolis, MN and saw a Spyder with NC plates, plate was IBA_GRL. I asked around but no one could point me to the owner. Hoping the owner is on SL or someone knows them. Let me know, it was a welcome sight to see as a buddy and I just completed our first Saddle-sore 1000 on Spyders and there was only one more there that I saw.

ST Conyac in Mocksville on 7/28/17

Saw what I think was a ST in Conyac pulling out of East Coast Wings in Mocksville today. It had a lady rider.

Shame on me I was in the truck.

Doesn't look like a very active thread but I'm in Wilkesboro. Moved down here from northern Indiana about 3 years ago. Enjoying the year round riding season!

Up here in northeast NC, we don't have quite year round riding weather. :-) When it drops below freezing, there can be black ice, and a couple of times a year, we get snow. LOL

Here in the foothills, we get occasional snow. Grand total of 1.5" last season but we got a hell of a lot more the season prior. We even had about 24" in a single day. According to everyone down here, the last time there was a snowfall like that was back in the early '90s. (I dunno. I was in northern IN back then were 24" in a single day wasn't out of the ordinary.) When it gets below freezing (overnight and early mornings), I watch out for black ice but as long as I stay off the mountain, it's usually gone by the middle of the day if we get any at all. Even if I can't ride every single day, I still consider it year round riding. I'm guessing I wouldn't miss more than a week or 2 at a time around these parts.

We're in Morganton NC. I just ordered a new Sea-To-Sky and won't have it until June but once it comes in I'd like to meet some of you nearby.

Welcome. I am a bit further east from you (Apex), but we do make as many trips to the NC mountains as possible. Hopefully we can meet one day. If nothing else, maybe at the spyder rally in Maggie Valley.
