• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Rubber Broke

What a piece of crap. I noticed my cowl was a little off center, I checked and sure enough one of the rubbers was broken. I think BRP should come up with a better solution and replace them all...Yep that will happen.:roflblack: The more I get into this :spyder2:, not sure I make a wise choice. Now I have a small leak, antifreeze I think. Always something.:cus:

Join the crowd on broken cowl rubbers. I don't know why BRP can't fix that one either. They'd be better off just throwing in a set of mini bungie cords, that's what I'm using.

On the antifreeze leak, check your hose clamps. They can get loose as the hoses seat in. Probably nothing more than just needing a little tightening.

Yeah, I have heard lots of stories about broken seat cowl.

It is a shame, but we are all early adopters and we have to deal with this. Hopefully, it won't be the case for the RT. Otherwise, BRP will have a hard time selling more spyders.

Yes, mine started leaking awhile back and sure enough the clamp bolt was not tight at all! Everyone should take a minute and check their clamp. It just might prevent a problem down the road.

Yup... have a leak here too... Puddle right under the coolant tank in front. Not sure it is the cap or something else... NOt impacting my riding, but needless to say, I'm putting a call into the dealer for them to get a new cap.

Cow Rubber

Keeps the herd safe.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: Just kidding, a little rubber tie that is suppose to keep the passenger seat/shell cover in place. Makes the bike look solo.

I have been using 2 small bungee cords since mine broke about 2 weeks after I put the solo cowl on. Didnt notice it right away but saw a post on here and went into the garage to check mine out. 2 broken ones, both the rear ones. Sad design to say the least. Maybe BRP can send us UPDATED ones...LOL

Many folks have switched to velcro to hold on their seat cowls. BRP has replaced some of the rubbers under warranty, but they break again soon. Terrible place to use rubber under stress. It has to get very hot under that cowl out in the sun.

Antifreeze leak.

Rando:bowdown:

Thanks.

Thats what it was. Leaking ever so slowly, it was pretty loose.

Thanks again.

All you guys / gals on this site are awesome.

Yah me too... one of the rubber pieces broke off as well... anybody got any good ideas on having something better than those little rubber straps to hold the cowl down?:dontknow:

Don't have one--But I can understand the trauma of a broken rubber:D

Michael;)

Those nets that come with most SUV's and station wagon are made with bungee cord, so I cut one up and made all new cords for mine and they work just great. Just a little tip to all about your seat cowl, take it off ounce in while to clean under it you will be amazed how much dust and dirt collect under there.

The cap goes on pretty hard and some do not turn it far enough because of this. If you don't get it on all the way it will leak.

I beleive the wings of the cap align with the holding tank when installed correctly (all the way to the last notch). It should also be level. If one of the tabs does not catch the cap will be up on one side.

It is hard to believe that a cap has gone bad.
