Dual Sport Rally

Getting my Rally to look like the dual sport machine I know it is.

Wow. Nice work! How much light do those throw?

Enough. I have heat related medical issues so I've started riding at night, still on dirt back roads so it's really dark out there. Just a little side vision but can see the road good for a ways. Nice and peaceful, cool temperatures and no traffic. Just cruising along at 18 to 20 mph.

Like. Made a good platform to attach the lights to and the mounting plate on the bottom makes a good thick additional skid plate .

Can you show the mounts for the lights?

They're PIAA mounting brackets (74000).

Looks good, and certainly adds to the 'dual sport' appearance & maybe that functionality too, but I just hafta ask... what is that brush bar/bumper bar/tube bar mounted on? :dontknow: I ask, cos there was one bloke here in Aust who made up something sorta similar for his Spyder (looked very nice!) which was mounted on basically the same frame points as the OE Placcy skid plate & the fixed sway bar brackets, but what he thought was a very minor low speed impact on a slightly deeper than normal gutter on the protruding bar actually transmitted a whole lotta force into those points, twisted the frame, & got the Spyder written off!! :shocked:

So I'm wondering how your bar is mounted, and is any impact on the bar likely to be transmitted into anything structural.... :dontknow:

Let us know how handling is affected with the extra weight on the nose. Being light in the front is one of the complaints I have heard from other Ryker riders. The Roo bars may be protective and improve handling.

I don't ride aggressively (always ride in Eco mode except for the rare occasions I need Rally mode) and very seldom get over 45 mph so I don't think I would notice any difference in handling. You would be surprised at the things you notice traveling at 35 to 40 mph. I've noticed roads and houses and buildings I've passed by hundreds of times and didn't realize they were there! At that speed you can look around some and not have to just concentrate on the road ahead. I'm retired and just enjoy leisurely riding around on the Ryker. My trips usually run an hour and a half to two hours and I go 30 to 40 miles in that time frame.
