Anyone noticed their exhaust being red or maybe rust colored inside the muffler

Most likely additives in the fuel. Often though the additives generate darker colors, even so much to make jetting a carb bike difficult when reading spark plugs.

At a guess, but likely wrong, that is either high quality summer blend gasoline or non ethanol gas.

I am not familiar with the workings of these engines, but on an auto it would possibly mean a coolant leak into the cylinder....such as a blown head gasket.

I had a turbo charged SantaFe that would get black exhaust residue with every brand of gas except Shell, Shell would have a brick red color. I was told this is due to high exhaust temps, in my case due to the Turbo, and the detergents in the gas. Most are black, Shell's turn red. This would only happen with the "summer" formulations.

From my general understand the Rotax Ace engines are designed to run fairly hot.

Same here. I'll let you know if mine turns red when I get some miles on it. Right now, it is kind of in pieces while I do some cosmetics to it. Are you using premium or regular? I'll do the same and see if mine turns red. I only use Shell because I get a discount and because it is the most populated of stations near me.

Like I said above, I have my Rally mostly undressed while I work on it. BUT, yesterday I was thinking about your discovery and decided to take a closer look at my exhaust. Remember, I only have a few hundred miles on mine right now, but I did notice the very end, at the opening is turning red. When I looked at it before, I just shrugged it off as the beginnings of exhaust pipe rust. But, now that you drew my attention I can see the similarity with your red pipe. Interesting. And I only use SHELL in my vehicles.
