• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

At long last I got to see it! 😁

:2thumbs::congrats::roflblack: Did you get to rip up the tar with that BEAST!!!

Monstrosity may be a better description of it! It was set up at the HyVee grocery store in Macomb, IL about a week ago. I just never believed it was an actual operating vehicle.

The funniest thing was the guy who walked out of the store and started singing the Oscar Mayer jingle, much to the chagrin of his wife and kids.

We used to live in Madison WI, the home of Oscar Meyer back in the 70's. Don't know if they are still there???

Saw the actual weiner mobile when we moved to Ft. Wayne, IN a few years later.

And thanks, now you have me humming the darn jingle. :roflblack:

Oscar Meyer closed in Madison couple of years ago. They are now starting to rent parts of the building. I've been in the newer weiner mobile.

You are welcome:ohyea: Just a friendly reminder; they had a jingle for their bologna, too! "My bologna has a first name, it's O-S-C-A-R. My bologna has a second name, it's M-A-Y-E-R."

Just in case you forgot!:joke: Again, you're welcome!

There is 6 operating Weinermobiles now. Here is a link for their tour schedule if you really want to see one.

Some of the older ones have been retired and now live in various museums across the country.

They are real, operating highway vehicles. I was working at a gas station back in the 60s and one came in to fill up with gas.

They were hiring drivers a year or 2 back...my wife sent me the application...not sure if she thought I'd be happier getting free hot dogs and singing the theme song all day, or if she'd be happier telling her friends what I did for a living :roflblack:

I tried to apply for the job and said at 60 I was to old. They want younger drivers I guess.

Too old?:cus: I've been eating hot dogs for almost 70 years. All they're going to get today is some Millennial vegetarian that will be texting while driving. ;)

I changed the oil in one back when I was a teenager @ Jiffy Lube, Im 53 now!

Have Fun!!!IMG_20180728_080611.jpg

Latrobe Air show July 2018

Saw one on the road several years back. It is one thing to see it parked at a fair or event - a whole other thing to see a 15' wiener roll down a four lane road toward you at speed!
