cost of engine without warranty

Since reading some owners having to replace engines or rebuild, just wondering how much the cost would be if the warranty had expired with labor!$$$$$$$$$$$ Something hopefully the majority of us do not have to experience:yikes:

I heard the engine is a PIA to replace. Id that goes, you might get more $$$ if you part it out than trying to fix it.

The parts list shows engine at $8K new plus shipping plus installation - better to part it out and buy a used Spyder:dontknow:
