• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Update on the Lamonster BBQ

I like your screen name (sorry to High Jack) but I actually went to TheFlyingDutchman in Amsterdam! :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

While I have not been there , I certainly admire those that have .. perhaps if we all visited there , a bit of this competitiveness between the forums would be eliminated.... :D

I'm truly sorry this post got off track. :sour: If you notice I am promoting the SpyderTalk event on the front page of SpyderLovers.

I've been getting phone calls, PM's and emails about the Spyders in the Smokies event. This event is put on by SpyderTalk and they had a great turnout last year. Here's the info for the event.

There will always be a competitiveness between the two sites and that is what will make us both better sites. I don't waste my time worrying about who has the best site, I just focus on making mine better and promoting the Spyder and sharing the passion I have for the Spyder with other owners and doing my best to help other Spyder owners when I can.

There are members that feel a certain pride and belonging to both sites and they have strong feelings one way or the other toward each site. There are also members who are neutral and visit all the Spyder sites for information and fellowship. The Spyders in the Smokies is a great event hosted by SpyderTalk but it just so happens to be in my backyard and many of my friends and members are coming to the event and that's why I have invited them over to my place. The BBQ is not a competing event nor is it a chance for me to make a buck, all I want to do is have a good time with my Spyder friends and I would hope that nobody would read more into it than that.

I hope we can get back to what this post is about now. By the way there is a forcast for rain but that can change day by day so don't put off coming because of the weather, we'll still have a good time. :doorag:

I think you need to be registered for the guided rides through the SpyderTalk guys but you can just show up to Lamonster's BBQ.

Question for Lamont

I signed up for the tail of the dragon ride on Thursday. If I do that ride(never been to the Smokies before) will I miss most of the fun at the BBQ?
..trying to get my ducks in a row here and want to see/do as much as possible...

:2excited:Friday, last day of work. Saturday snowmobile bbq in upstate NY. Sunday evening Gatlinburg Tn. and the Smokies and a bottle of Captain Morgan (after the ride) got to love it. Everybody have a safe trip and I'll see you their.:2thumbs:

BBQ bound

Anybody from west central Il. got suggestions on a scenic route to Gatlinburg?. Hopefully leaving Friday. Any help would be appreciated!:2excited::helpsmilie:

Lamonster posted this on the bbq info thread.http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13023
I'm sure there are several of us that are going to ride the dragon and then go to his BBQ. I think you can do both.

I need to start planning my vacation time better. Not enough days left to go to Lamonts.(Why a Thursday?) REALYY wish I could go.:( Next year for vacation it's Lamonts and Owner's Event. Besides Florida with the kids is so cliche.

After the riding is finished for the day...one scotch, one bourbon, one beer
