• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Correction!: I meant I will use Chevron Delo full synthetic. Equivalent to Rotella T6, but considerably cheaper.

Not equivalent!

My manual says JASO MA2. The Delo® 400 XSP SAE 5W-40 application chart says JASO DH-2.

MA2 is for motorcycle, 4 cycle, wet clutch applications. From JASO web site: JASO T 903 is classified into four grade types, MA, MA1, MA2, and MB, according to the test result based on the above-mentioned JASO clutch system friction test.”

The DH-2 is for heavy duty diesel trucks and busses. From JASO web site: “the DH-2 and DH-2F classification has been specified for heavy duty uses on trucks/buses.”

So what is obvious to me is that the Delo above is not rated for motorcycles and its use in my Syder could quite possibly void the warranty.

T6 is rate JASO MA2.

And I just changed the oil in my FJR after 8000 miles, will change it again when I get back from AK in June. It used to be said (by the unknowing masses) that full synth was too slick and wasn't good for wet clutches. Not so. But, YMMV. Use whatever oil you are comfortable with, just don't be afraid to use diesel oil.

I don't see JASO MA2 referenced in the manual I downloaded from BRP.

The Ryker has a centrifugal clutch, rather than a motorcycle style "wet clutch", so MA2 is not needed.
 
Sweet! Saved another $17.50 on the 2.5 gallon jug. I didn't mention but I also had a $20 gift card applied towards the purchase, made my 2.5 gal of T6 cost $8.81 per gallon!
 
I got a six pack of Valvoline 5w40 MST Synthetic used in high end sport cars and some diesel engines at Walmart for $42 and filters from BajaRon. Used the Valvoline in my 900cc Spark engine 2 Years and it ran Great. NO need for JASO ratings so it does no good performance wise?

Not true. Reach out to Shell and they will send you the latest spec sheet and verify current formulation is still JASO MA2 rated. I have posted the spec sheet here on SL but you can verify for your self.

Its shown about 3/4 down the page under OEM specifications:
