• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brass body inserts

Does anyone know of a source for the brass inserts for the body panels?

I loooooooooooooooooove McMaster Carr ………… Yep they have them …… look at Helical and Threaded inserts ……….. I seriously doubt BRP sells theirs ….. Mike

We fixed several of them. You find them on the bolt, pulled free of the plastic. Make sure the threads are ok, bolt is ok. Remove the 10mm bolt that holds the plastic part the brass insert goes in. Use a slightly smaller drill bit than the outside diameter of the brass insert. Drill to clean up the hole. Coat brass outside edge with glue, install from the inside out. Use a couple of flat washers on the bolt, and tighten the bolt to draw the brass into the plastic. Let dry while you do whatever you were going to do before you discovered the brass insert had come free. Once dry, remove the bolt, discard the flat washers, and put it all back together. Never use power tools on those bolts. Remove and replace by hand, every time.
