• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Who manufacturers Spyder radios?

I need to figure out who manufacturers the radios that go into the Spyder RT (2017 specifically). Having an issue with iPhone not playing and I am unable to find a fix so I wanted to contact the manufacturer directly. I know its a third party and have seen them mentioned someplace before but now cannot get my hands on that information.

I did post a thread requesting assistance in the RT forum but no "fixes" as of yet http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?116226-iPod-not-functioning-on-2017-RT-Limited

Why not simply open a case with BRP and have them fix or replace the radio as many times as necessary on their nickel since it's under warranty.

I sent a message to BRP through their customer service messaging system on their web site. Is there another way I should be opening a "case" with BRP?

 Or was it "Sound Design"? :opps:
Finless knows the right one: get in touch with him...
Thanks. Sent a PM to Finless. Someone PM'd me and said they had to pull their head unit and there is a sticker on it labeled RSI. Any thoughts?

Can you be more specific about what you are connecting where to play music from your iPhone. Lots of users here that use that configuration. Does the USB port in your trunk work at all? Have you tried plugging in a simple thumb drive with music files on it? Did you know the port is limited to 500ma current which is not enough to charge most modern phones.

What is it that 'does not work'?

In my original post above I put a link to the thread where I first tried to get support and described the issue I am experiencing. All I was looking for in this thread was to get the name of the radio manufacturer and I didn't want to repeat the issue description or discussion.

But, I have not tested a thumb drive. Good advice and I will try that.

The easiest way to try at first is have your dealer open the case with BRP. After all, it's under warranty and, IMO, asking the dealership to take the common sense approach should easily pursuade them -- if they are the least bit customer service oriented. They should know how to get a case opened. If that doesn't work, send an e-mail to [email protected], relate in exact detail your dialogue with the dealership in attempting to get them to open a case, and ask BRP Care to open a case for you and contact the dealership with instructions on what the dealer is to do next.

Update

Thank you all for your replies. I did reach out to Radio Sound and have heard back from a customer service rep. I shared with them a video I took of the iPhone not working and they have escalated to an engineer. Will see if that goes anywhere.

I also sent a message to BRP and they referred me back to a dealer. We are soon due for the 19,000 mile service so will have them address this issue.

Radio Sound usually will not work directly with customers and tell you to go to BRP.
But seems you got a tech to look at it which I have to say in dealing with them before, never worked.

Bob, I have had some email correspondence with Radio Sound. They asked me a bunch of questions and some of the items I had to "test" on the Spyder and wouldn't you know it, the iPhone worked as expected during my testing. This is one of the frustrating issues on this is that it is intermittent. We have copied songs to a thumb drive for now and that seems to be working brilliantly.

I will reply to this thread if Radio Sound ever gets back to me with some changes/solutions.

Thank you all for your input. It was very helpful.
