I was riding and started hearing an unusual noise....... I'm right at 15k.
I thought something was going bad with my clutch, but I could hear a rattling every now and then that sounded like it was coming from my rear tire area. so I took it in.
The tech who initially rode my spyder thought the rear wheel bearing was going bad.
The next tech said he thought it was the clutch.
Well it was closing time so they said I needed to leave it.
I got a call this morning,,,its my transmission bearing. :gaah: I'm suppose to be leaving for Gatlinburg on the 19th. They have to lift the engine and split the transmission to clean it out and change the bearing, and hope nothing else is damaged.
I forgot to ask them....does the oil there transfer into the cylinders or are those different chambers? Am I in risk of having damaged cylinders from this?
Is there anything that I should make sure they do before reassembling and sending me on my way? I hope to go to Gatlinburg then up to Niagra Falls then back to St. Louis.....I won't have any wear in time it doesn't sound like. They said they hoped to have my spyder ready by the 19th.
