• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Flat Tire

Thanks .....

Too bad he did not do the repair on the side of the road and show all how that is done...:clap:Glad I'd went as well as it did.....

Hit a rock and blew right front tire- still stable like Pierre said

Like Pierre said, losing air wasnt the worst although it did pull to the right. Last Monday on our way to Tucson we got caught in a heavy downpour and I hit a rock washed down on the road and blew the sidewall on the right Kumho . I couldn't get a Kumho at the Show Low AZ Discount tire shop (nearest supply was either Nevada or Dallas TX). I do feel that the heavier sidewal and carcass of the Kumho prevented damage to the wheel and allowed me to roll about two miles to a wide spot where I could pull over safely.

Had to wait 3 hrs for a flat bed tow with alternating rain with some hail, but it could have been worse.

The Discount tire shop had a set of Nankang AS-1 tires in the same 155/60R15 size at $61 a piece so I now have run them about 1000 miles with good roll and balance, but am not as pleased with their grip. They seemed to drift a little too much on the curves. I may need to to play with the pressures as I still have them at about 20 psi. But they were a godsend when you're stranded on the road.
I just ordered a Kumho replacement and a couple of the Federal Formozas for wifes F3T from Walmart so that maybe I can count on them on the road..

Completed the trip with the Nankangs and just lost a day but beautiful country after the sun came out

Just curious, are their runflat tires available for the Spyder sized tires??????
Mike

i will never own runflat tires produced under current quality. major problem they cause dents & cracks in rims
and have a much higher rate of bubbles. AAA agrees with me on this whole heartedly.
