• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT parts on the RS ?

For those in the know, I was curious if the RT is still internally the same bike with different trim. From the pictures it looks like the handlebars on the RT come back a bit more and I was wondering if they would go on an RS.

My guess is there will be some crossover parts but not many. I'll be looking real hard at that when I get mine home.

Cool, I'd appreciate an update when you get a chance. To me risers look goofy and I can't bring myself to cut the bars.

The RT appears to be just a well accessorized Spyder as we know it.( essentually same engine, same chassis, same running gear) I think some of the accessories will find their way to the aftermarket at least in some form. I have already added enough touring accessories to mine to pretty much satisfy my requirements and expect more to come. I wouldn't consider trading mine until major changes were made i.e. engine, transmission, or drive system.nojokeIMHO

The RT is "fly by wire throttle control system" and in as much the bars being what appear to be so far back don't have/need the all important longer throttle cables and clutch hydraulic hose that would be needed for these to go on a 08 or 09 SE5 or SM5.

Also, the bars seem so much further back that longer wires might be needed for the switch packs too?

As for what is under the bar cover for attatchment to the steering stem, we'll know as soon as my RT gets here and I rip into it.

When is your RT coming???

If I had my way today!

Don't know I have had one on order with my dealer for months and months.

I tolld them to get me the first one they could no matter the color when the very first spy photo was shown then taken down months and months ago.

As soon as these things start shipping I should have the very first one they get around here.

Do what I did...have someone else cut the bars and install the risers...they look great and help with rider comfort...I delayed these for a while but they're a good move! They're the only option that allows you to keep your steering lock function...which is big for me! If uncomfortable, just have someone else do the work for you...you'll be happy you did...Evan did really well with this mod!
