• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I find it amazing the I can buy a http://www.lebanonford.com/lfp-800hp-mustang.htm for $39,995 with 800 HP, etc dual power seats, HID headlamps, SYNC Bluetooth technology, Reverse camera, and even Ford Track Apps. A loaded Spyder comes close to that price. Got's to be some awesome profit in building the Spyder.. The premium Mustang loaded with 10 spd auto-heated seat, steering wheel, Bose stereo, everything -leather Recaro seat is under $50K

I guess it all boils down to what you enjoy. I have been a motorcycle nut since I was twelve years old and my Spyder is just an extension of that love. I bought a nice performance car a few years back and I HATED it. Sent it down the road after a year and yes I lost money. It was just like every other cage I have been trapped in just faster. To put it in perspective I bought a new Tacoma pickup in 2006. It now has 49,000 miles on it. I bought a BMW RT that year and put 100,000 on it before trading for a Triumph Trophy SE which I put 60,000 on before trading for my Spyder a year ago. The Spyder has 18,000 on it. The Spyder would have more miles, but I have two other bikes I ride when I travel solo. There is not a car out there that I would pay $40K for because I'm just not interested. I will never buy another new car or truck just to drive 4000 miles in a year.

Starting price is $39995 so by the time your done picking your options etc,its twice that amount.

That is the actual price for the GT Mustang vehicle offered with the 300a option package. Yes -moving up to Premium GT, GT Permanence package, add $3995, + etc
https://shop.ford.com/build/mustang....|300A.P8C..J7...COU.67G.MST.~YZKAA.GT.LESS.] + $40K with 460 HP 0-60 in 4 sec or less. Build via my preference wit be $49K + $8 K for Supercharger=loaded----10 spd auto, heated/cooled seat/ 12" addvideo screen. leather, etc + tax for 800 HP. This site has lots of buyers in the loaded Limited Spyders paying close to $40K including o/aftermarket add ons.

I see exactly where you are coming from. But cars and bikes are in 2 different categories. Although I am a ford guy and would love to have one of those mustangs, I know that I would not drive it much. I have an 06 roush that is in need of an oil change. My last oil change was 2/27/16. After 2 years, I have only put 2700 miles on the car. While I bought my last spyder at the end of April 2017. It now has about 9500 miles on it, and I have also purchased another 2 wheeler that I have put 700 miles on. It all boils down to what you do and how much you enjoy doing it.

Go ahead: Buy the Pony Car! :D

But it's still just a cage...

Not if it's a convertible  . I just remember the 70's & 80's when no cars had any power. & Now 800 HP that can be had with a warranty $$ ?. My 76 Firebird had the 4 barrel V8 & stray dogs were passing me on the freeway, 84 Corvette==piece of sh*t, 87 corvette not much better. Muscle cars of the 60's were getting top dollar & now Honda Civics are passing them. I doubt if I'll ever ride anything faster than the turbo Haybusa 344 rwhp that I sold in Sept 2017. To build a stock engine that can tolerate 800 HP implies quality to me--Same for the 10 spd auto trans. Actually I only have a 3.3 car garage & it's full--if you won't mind calling my wife & asking her to park in the driveway I would be forever grateful---or castrated. Thus just as the prior supercharger gentlemen stated--there's no room to drive it except for the track. I can see the twin turbo Ford Explorer in my garage already replacing my existing SUV :-(

In that case I would hate to tell you what I spent

It's difficult to compare apples to organges. Flamewinger may have many upgrades you don't. All the longer the Spyder sits on the floor without a buyer the easier it is to get a bigger discount. Dealers get their spyders without any money down & then have many months to sell & pay for it. If the dealer was nearing the ending of free cost spyder time because nobdy liked the color they's have little choice other than major discount.

The worst P.O.S. that I ever owned said "Harley-Davidson" on the tank...

But it was a mid-seventies two-stroke 250 cc dual purpose Harley! :banghead:
I sawed it in half, and gladly carted it to the Dump!
