• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stability on the Highway

This thread took a turn...

It usually doesn't. Who did the install? Where did they tap into for power? Those LEDs are such a small current draw, I doubt that's the cause of your limp home situation, unless they were wired improperly.

As noted above, relays are recommended to isolate the load from the electronics when the load is greater, like in driving lights.

This is a youtube video I was watching. While I don't believe everything I see, hear or read...My tech told me the same thing!
I think I will start a new thread to see if anyone else had an issue. I am not looking to hurt anyone's business but we all deserve the facts!!

your issues

Ok, I promised to get back to everyone with my HONEST findings...
I had the laser alignment done Sunday and saw that one side was spot on and the other was off a bit ( approx. 3" off center with the beam )
I also had some new led's added to the cross bars. I pay and leave and get the dreaded limp home message, dealer says it has something to do
with the new led's that are also turn signals. Just got my Spyder back and still seems the same to me, handling wise ( being honest )!
I know I need more time in the saddle to get more comfortable!!
That is my laser report and now I have to see if I will get another limp home message soon.....
I never knew that adding led's throws off the computer.
As far as Laser alignment is concerned Dealers that use them Mostly use the BRP laser system ....and it has been proven NOT to as accurate as the ROLO/OUTLAW system ( PM SpyderAnn ) ..... imho 3" is hugh, but it must be put in context. If the target wall is quite far away from the Spyder the " OFF center " margin is going to be greater ... the side that is "Spot On " will be that way no matter how far away the " wall " is !!!!! ....... I have added 20 plus LED's to my RT ( all DIY / not plug and play ) and it never triggered a " limp mode " .... 99% of all Lazer alignment corrections will not be detectable by 99% of the operators ... I know folks will swear they can tell, but if they had to bet $1000 on being able to pick out defective alignment , say one out of five Spyders, they wouldn't make the Bet :roflblack: ...... Alignment issues are going to revealed via front tire wear patterns .......... good luck with this .......PS I have concerns about dealer Tech who told you about the LED's ................jmho .... ....Shawn Smoak has been heralded here and other sites as a spyder " Guru ". So I started to watch your sample of His thoughts ..... in the first 5 minutes He contradicted Himself about 8 times....well I'm sorry but I don't think He is anywhere near as smart as He thinks He is :dontknow:......jmho ....
