• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front Sprocket

You asked, so here goes...

I don't think this would change things enough to bother with. If my calculations are correct, you would drop less than 200 rpm at highway speeds. Not worth it to me.

Ah....Cold, Hard Reality...Like a pin in a balloon.

I don't think there is enough room to make a front sprocket big enough to make a real difference. Then you may find the Spyder having to work too hard anyway, if you were able to drop the RPM 10%.

thanks.... for the info and thoughts.

I am sure there will be some unsuspected individual who just might think that the extra tooth will make a BIG difference.

Thanks again.

Considering this is the same guy that makes and thinks it's okay to mount a hitch off the swing-arm ----- I wouldn't touch it.

I saw a post where spyderrider said this sprocket reduced RPM in 5th gear by 500rpms. Don't shoot the messenger:shemademe_smilie:

Don't care---- the other stuff they make is crap (see the bra post)--- wouldn't think this should be any better.

I don't want to make everybody nuts by posting mathematical formulas here, but at 70 mph on the highway the Spyder rpm would drop by less than 200 rpm with this gear. As a result, you would ss redline before you could reach a speed where you saw a 500 rpm improvement. I can PM the calculations to anyone, or send a copy of my spreadsheet. I worked as an engineer for most of my adult life, so I have to trust calculations, not someone's SWAG estimate. Wouldn't be the first time there has been a false claim made about a product, however. Not shooting the messenger, BTW, just supplying the honest facts. I know you are just passing on what you heard.
