• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sidecar

Thinking of having a small sidecar built. Anyone looked into this? How would the VSS react? It seems to handle the trailer okay but I wonder about the lateral pull.

Thinking of having a small sidecar built.

Just shooting from the hip, two issues to consider in your design: 1)vehicle width from the oposite front wheel to the external side of the sidecar 2) the front wheel on the side of the sidecar SHOOTING rocks and stuff to the sidecar passenger.

3WD

I have my concerns. This could be a very unstable combination! A sidecar rig is difficult enough in its own right, with the worst trait being that it handles differently in each direction. I don't think the VSS would care for that at all. Personally, we bought the Spyder for the sole purpose of avoiding purchasing a sidecar rig...and I like it that way. Holding my breath with worry over this one.

By the time you get through you could probably have a 2nd Spyder for the same money.

That's what I'd do.

I agree with Scotty, one of the reasons most purchase the Spyder is due to not wanting the instability of a side car. I currently have a Velorex sidecar attached to a BMW R100RT and I have the sidecar for sale on Craigslist. I just don't use it much other than taking my French Bulldog for rides. What would be the purpose of your sidecar modification?

:agree:You wouldn't get me in a side-car!
