• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Finished my custom bars this weekend

I've always wanted some mini apes on my F3 and I just got around to building a custom set for my Shop Dawg project bike. I know they're not for everyone but I love them and so do a few other folks so we decided to go into production on these. They just feel right. :doorag:

Alrighty then....

Look great for those that like them and will be a hit with many. Will the wiring need extensions or is there enough to install straight forward...?? Will there be colors to choose from..?? congrtats on this new item...

Love to have something close to that for my RT!

Like to here more after you given it a trial run how they feel on the Spyder.

Stock wiring works fine, just cut one ziptie :doorag:

Yep, yep, yep. They have my name on them Lamont, especially now that my Daylong seat has lifted me up and back a couple of inches. So I am now waiting impatiently for my Lamonster RIP highway pegs and mini apes. ;)

Cool!

Love the look! Nice job! You are right, not for everyone, but many find them more comfortable. Pain sux, and if that position is what is right for you, we have a solution! Different postures, sizes, ergonomics come into play. I am thrilled Lamont fabricated these. I think they will work for lots of people! Everyone is different, so having options on bars, footpegs or floorboards, windshields, saddles, grips is fantastic! If it hurts, you won’t ride as much. It has taken trial and error to fit us up. In fact, next month SpyderAnn is being fitted for a new Daylong saddle. Hopefully, this last piece will make the ride perfect for her. Again, everyone is different. YMMV!
Thank you,Lamont, for making these. Joe

I want some beach bars for additional leverage on my F3T. Did you have to lengthen your control cables?

I'm not a fan of apes but I have to admit they look good on your Spyder. good job! I'm new to Spyders and have visited your site. nice. I can see you're going to get me into trouble with the wife

I've added a few pics of the finished prototype bars and this shows the adjustment you'll have. :doorag:

What are apes like?

What are Ape Hanger Bars like? I've never had them on any bike. They always looked like they would be tiring and that your arms might go numb.

What's it like?

These are not true apes. They would be considered mini apes. The theory is to have your hands even with your heart to prevent numbness in your hands. They're very comfortable to ride with. :doorag:

Negotiating a turn?

I'm imagining having to stretch left or right when making a turn because of the angle of the grips. Is that an issue?
(BTW...they look great!)
