SIDE CASE CLOSURE - FIX ?

During my normal browsing for interesting things session :lecturef_smilie::roflblack: ..... I found these on E-bay #252626422909 .... they are really small ( 2"x1.3"x.43 thick ) lockable Clasps ...... On a couple of occasions one of my ( RT ) side-cases have opened .... this would prevent that from happening ..... just a thought to share ....... Mike :thumbup:

I've never had a side case open while ryding, but then before I climb aboard I always lock the rear trunk latch & so lock it & the side cases at the same time.... :dontknow: I did this cos when I bought my 2013 RT, the salesman mentioned that some had experienced the side cases flapping open while moving, & he recommended the locking thing all the time. Not hard to learn to do, doesn't change the look or aerodynamics of my Spyder, and I've never had a failure!

I do carry a spare key on a chain (cut especially so I can) to let me just unlock & open the cases if I need to while the engine is running, but it hasn't ever been an issue... And it's also meant that the one time I left my 'proper' key in my jacket pocket & locked it into the frunk I didn't have any issues getting it out! :thumbup:

Works for me.... but I am still looking into installing remote opening for them all, & maybe even adding remote starting! :2thumbs:

Why don't you adjust your cables? I did and fixed my problem with random opening. It took only a 1/4 turn to fix the issue. :thumbup:
