• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hybernation

I got my first motorcycle in October 2010. I wanted to ride so it wasn't "put away" for that winter. After that, I've ridden year-round here in Baltimore as long as there's no snow on the ground.

I just got my first Spyder 3 months ago. For the same reason it won't be put away. Keeping them running keeps them happy and healthy. I'm glad I don't live in an inhospitable environment.
To each his own.

I do what I have to do!

I wonder if I have you bet on the mileage #'s for the season.

We don't have any of the snow yet( White/Gold):roflblack:. The spyder is on the tender now/ @ dealership.

Deanna

We will see on the mileage #'s. And...I will be honest about it. I have X miles on three different bikes. 3,000 on the Vulcan--which I will NOT add to the total. I will break them down singly for you. Loser owes the other a cup of coffee. Okay.

Ok, with the mileage #'s. Looking forward to seeing your mileage #'s. Ok, how is that going to work!!?? (cup of coffee, ) ???

My rule is to put it away once the first road salt goes down. We might go on the "Blue Balls and Breastcicles Ride" on Black Friday with the group, but that will likely be the end of it. I like winter, so I'm good with it. Next up....grooming snowmobile trails....

After going out today, my winter lay up is for real.

Here are the "official" mileage numbers:

We put 8054 miles on the two :ani29::spyder2: this year.

Linda rode 4172 miles and I got in 3882 miles.
I put an additional 3079 miles on the Vulcan for a total of 6961 miles combined.

Your 6020 :f_spider: miles beat mine by 2138 miles.

You have me beat on :f_spider: to :ani29:. :congrats: I owe you a cup of coffee.

Carrier pigeon :roflblack::roflblack:. Deanna

But if you send a 'cup of coffee' by Carrier Pigeon, it really isn't all that likely to be 'coffee' by the time it gets there!! :dontknow:

'Coffee coloured' maybe..... :lecturef_smilie: but certainly not anything you'd ever want to drink!! :coffee: :barf:

And I'm not going anywhere near the North end of a South bound Moose!! :gaah: :p

:welcome:

Maybe next year's riding season you might have me beat. Congrats on the miles! I'll take the coffee, with sugar, milk, how about pumpkin spice:roflblack::roflblack:. Deanna

Suffering already

from Parked Motorcycle Syndrome. Cheri and I just put our two Spyders away for the winter here in Minnesota. This was my first year on a Spyder (F3T) and I managed to get 7786 miles on it without any long road trips. I'm already missing it and it's only been two hours. Gonna be a long, dark, cold winter.:banghead:

We feel your pain. A dose or two of SL can be helpful--but it is no substitute for the real thing.:bowdown::bowdown:

Order is up! And strange you should ask, I do have pumpkin spice. I personally managed three times or so more miles compared to last year because of the hip. Enjoyed two wheels so much again, that it got almost half of this years miles. Next year??

:bbq::bbq::bbq:I really did enjoy each and every mile, regardless of which machine, and there were three choices.
