What an interesting ride from Central Washington to St. George, Utah for the Red Rock Spyder rally.
Left home at 0800 Friday morning 9-21-17, in cloudy 41º weather. Rode through Eastern Oregon, Pendleton, Baker City, and spent night in Nampa, Idaho. Saturday left at 0930 in very cloudy 38º weather and rode through Boise, Mountain Home, into Utah where it started to drizzle and finally in N. Salt Lake City is starts to downpour. Temp. in high 30ºs. Spent the night in Payson, Utah. Left there about 1000 when there was a slight break in the rain. It was 34º and very misty with visability maybe 150 yards. At least the highway was such there were no puddles. Rode South on I-15 to Filmore for gas and a sandwich. Had ridden through light snow and the ground was covered with white. First decent weather was in Cedar City where the sun broke through and the temp. came up to the mid 50s.
Looking forward to warmer weather, according to weatherman, and meeting SpyderLovers and making some good tours.

You lucked out. It should be outrageously good ryding weather in St. George this coming week. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right!

You went through some beautiful country on your way down, even tho' the weather wasn't ideal. Bet you were glad you were ryding a Spyder when you encountered snow on the pavement!

Wow...!!

Chilly ryde so far..:yikes: rain and snow no help...acvording to my source your looking high 50's in the evenings and jupper 80's during the days. Leaving Tuesday dawn should be there early afternoon. Should be nice...be safe..

Leaving here mid morning tomorrow (Monday) and taking the back route. My wife (who has to work) is riding with me for the first 70 miles on our (her) Goldwing where we have lunch. Then I will go on and she will head for home (work). Plan to arrive mid day on Tuesday. The weather looks great for the rally.

Got here a couple of hours ago

Got on the road Monday, September 11th. 4000 miles later arrived in St. George.

The crew from Washington that came down through NV hit snow and slush from Wells NV to Ely NV (140 miles). :yikes: We went to see Mama Mia at an outdoor amphitheater last night and it was in the 40s with gusty winds, we wore all of our motorcycle gear and we're still cold. Today we rode to Cedar Breaks and Zion and it was a fantastic day even though it was quite cold.

We had great weather last year and a great time , but decided to wait another year to go again if they have one in 2018, I'll be retired then and can take as long as we want on the return trip and not be rushed. It was one of my favorite rally's.

Have fun guys and gals! I was there last year and didn't see enough different stuff on the schedule for this year to prompt me to go. It was fun last year except the large number of riders in the guided rides made those somewhat unwieldy. More start times with smaller groups would be better.

Saw and talked to a Spyder couple at the Pancake House in McCall, ID on Saturday morning. He is on SL once in awhile. They were headed for RR.

I'll give it a real serious look next year and probably go!
