There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Brake reservoir broke.

So I just got my 2014 RT Limited back Thursday evening. They replaced my compressor and did the service (oil change, etc). We left this AM from our home in Marietta, Ohio heading to Marion. Ohio for the popcorn festival and the Georgia Satellites concert. Just a quick over nighter. So riding the back roads, we were coming in to a little burg, I was braking and adjusted myself in the seat, hit the brake a little hard. Didn't think anything of it. Brake failure lite came on, I tested my brakes and they seemed fine. We got into the next sizable town and had lunch. Hoping the computer would reset. It didn't, so I looked at the brake fluid level. It was alittle low. Stopped at a Advance Auto bought some fluid to top off the reservoir. As I pored the fluid in, it was draining under the Spyder. Looked under and saw the fluid running down the hoses. So after an hour and a half of trying to find how to get to the bottom of the reservoir, found the hose nipple broke off the reservoir! Has anyone seen this before? Do you think they could of damaged it during the compressor repair? Very disappointed.

Yikes...!!

Glad you caught that.:yikes: it's very possible cause I have not seen or heard of anything like this. Leaking because of cap installation yes. The resivouirs are in close proximity of the rear shock..:dontknow:

I know of one

I know of one forum member that replaced their master cylinder for that exact same problem on their 2014 RT...I think the BRP replacement reservoir was made a little different from the original style...Maybe he will see this post and speak up...larryd

In a word, yes. Mechanics can be very ham handed can break anything if sloppy. I would suggest contacting the dealer ASAP and demand they fix it. There is no other plausible reason it would have broken.

Not sure why you would change a master cylinder for a broken reservoir? :dontknow:

I forgot to ad the word "RESERVOIR" in the sentence...

I know of one forum member that replaced the master cylinder RESERVOIR for the exact same reason...If I remember correctly the replacement RESERVOIR from BRP was made a little different than the original...I think he said they changed the design on the next model year RT...This forum member is dealing with a hurricane right now, so I doubt if he's keep up with SL...larryd

So he replaced the broken reservoir. Not the master cylinder. I just wanted to be clear to folks that may not know. The reservoir is remote from the master cylinder and are 2 different items.

Looking at the parts diagrams for RT MYs 2014-17 there have been changes in the reservoir for each succeeding year after '14. It appears the 2015 and 2016 reservoirs are backward compaitble with the 2014 MY. The 2017 appears to be an entirely new critter.
