• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder's and Age

who's counting?..... certainly not us!!

Two of us in our mid-70's here, new to Spydering. We've had our ryde (a 2017 F3L) for just over a month now, and closing in on our first 1000 miles. What others may think/say about us is their business; we don't worry. Having fun is ours, and all we really do care about. As for the Spyder? .... Orgasmic, eh!!

Turned 47 June 4. Had my 7 year anniversary of being divorced and she always said no to me getting a motorcycle so to celebrate the 7 years I bought a Spyder!!! Now to find someone to ride with me. Let the games begin. :ohyea:

50+ years in the wind, turning 71 next month(Aug).Went to 3 wheels in 2011 after my second crash in less then 3 months. Spent 4 years on a Goldwing trike because my dealer was too disinterested to sell me an RT.Sold the Goldwing when I realized I was not going back to 2 wheels and I hated the GW. Saw a beautiful 2012 RTL with low miles and never looked back. Started at 8500 mi and now at a little over 30,000 in 2 years and 2 months.:yes::yes:

I'm 72 and my bride is 65 and we both ride Spyders and our "old fashioned" two wheel motorcycles as well. We're both convinced we're at least 30 years younger than our actual ages and that works just fine for us. Our friends think Spyders are pretty spectacular and usually (translation - almost always) ask about the cost. We tell them they're no more than a Gold Wing or touring Harley or Indian and, best of all, Spyders don't fall over if you forget to put a leg down or your foot slips in sand, gravel, oil, or water! :D

You're probably are a lot happier now than seven years ago. Someone once said, "My wife told me I had to choose between her and my motorcycle. I wonder where she is these days?" :p

Age is not important

Because my body is 68 years old but my mind is at about 10 for the fun factor. My wife is 66 and has been on an RT since 2010. I just went to a 2016 F3T in April after 40 years on 2 wheels.

If you are having fun and enjoying the ryde that's all that matters.

I'm 61, and brought home my F3-S today. I've been riding 2 wheels for a dozen years, and the Harley is now for sale.

He: 56, She 63. We got our Spyder 4 years ago to augment our two wheelers. Plan to keep riding as long as we can.

I understand that a lot of people who are older switch to a spider because it is easier for them to ride. My question is how many younger people buy them because they are awesome? My wife and I are in our early 30's and we seem to be about the youngest ones around here. I catch tons of crap from my buddies still on 2 wheels calling me old and what not..lol TRUST ME I don't mind, I love my spyder but it got me wondering...what do you guys think the average age of a spyder rider is and for you young folks, how young are you :D

I'm 76 years young!!! and now on my 3rd Spyder.. have a 2014 RT Limited Pearl White
BIG F

I quit riding 2 wheels after a couple of accidents caused by my inability to deploy my rear brakes (could only use front brakes) because of arthritis. For some strange reason. I can use foot brake fine on my 2014 RTS-SE6. Different seating position is my guess. Anyway it works out good for me. I'm 74 and trying to ride daily 365.

I was 29 when I bought my Spyder. Have rode for 5 years. I could never figure out the kickstand thing with the two wheel motorcycles.
