• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

rain gear 2 piece vs 1 piece

im looking to get me some rain gear but I cant decide between a 2 piece set vs a 1 piece. Any suggestions would be helpful.

We got two piece. easier to get on and off. If it looks like rain you and put on the pants and not the jacket, then if it starts just toss on the jacket. You can also use the jacket as a windbreaker.

I prefer a one-piece suit: there's less openings for the water to sneak into... nojoke
And trying to wriggle into it, under a bridge overpass; CAN be a lot of fun... :D

rain suit

I have the two piece FroggToggs. Easy on and off and rolls up really small to put into the bike.

We have textile riding gear for that. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I agree, that is the best way to go. No need to stop and put on gear because you've already got it on. Although I am currently using a Nelson Rigg 2 piece rain suite since I am not 100% confident in my Can-Am jacket.

We have not been in a genuine "gully washer" for a couple years now. Linda has a BRP textile which I purchased in 2008 and I have a couple Firstgear that are vintage 2009. They work fine in gentle rain, and we have not gotten wet. Eventually, they are going to get re-tested. Guessing that we can spray treat them if they need help.

Even my 100% waterproof jackets and pants get treated after every washing. I just sprayed them today in anticipation of a long ride in the near future.

2 piece Frogg Toggs as earlier described, they're easier to get in and out of and sometimes I have to get out of them in a hurry, top doubles as a good wind breaker and if you're not a std size like me getting a one piece that fits horizontally doesn't fit vertically.

Gully washer

We hit a gully washer in Utah on our way home from South Dakota 4 or 5 weeks ago. Our 2 piece Frog Toggs suits kept us DRY.

My wife and I have the Can-Am raingear 2 piece sets. Like mentioned above, put the pants on if it looks like rain and just put the jacket on if it actually starts to rain. One thing that we noticed with our gear ( and other people with Can-Am gear ), the pants legs seem to be longer than necessary. And yes we did mix the sizes to try and overcome this situation.
