After the Ryde.......

Besides putting your feet up and smoking a huge cigar , what's your routine after your ryde? I mean in terms of doing a quick cleaning of your Spyder. What do you use onn your windshield, Tupperware etc to keep it looking good and ready for the next ryde?

I'm lazy, so I'd like to establish as simple a routine as possible.

Does anyone else use a car wash? I was told to wash the Spyder by hand when I bought it. I've been using Hondabrite and rinsing then blowing all the water out with a compressor. Spraying it down at a car wash would be a lot easier on the knees.

After most rydes I hit it with Lamontser's black diamond detailer, quick and easy. Id rather get the bad spots before they settle in. As for the shield (F4), Windex and paper towels.

Ready for the next ryde.

I walk away as well. Sometime during the week I soak a lot of towels in hot water and drape them all over the machine. They sit on the motorcycle for several minutes. I then wipe down one section at a time and dry it with a microfiber towel. After that I hit it with Lamonster's Black Diamond detailer and and Black Trim Renew.

I never ever use water. I use pledge only to clean. Takes off the dead bugs and leaves a nice shine. Third bike that I use this procedure on. And, you can take the can of pledge with a soft cloth with you in the saddle bag on trips.

Someone please note the day & time; once again Bob Denman & I agree.

I have no problem with those who want to keep their Spyders nice & shiny, etc. I prefer to just clean it when I think it needs it & ride it until that time happens.

My frunk has some scratches on it, one side panel has a small grind mark ( my bad on doing that to it ), and one fender has a paint scuff ( once again, my bad ). I'm just fine with how it looks.

Let's see....

Being that I have the 998 I put away the ryding gear check the oil and add if needed and head on in. Been using the 303 recommenced by Jerbear and clean up is a snap but do it the next day. Grab a cold one sit on the deck and watch the sun set to some great tunes..... my rydes are not planned just get fueled up and go....hyea:

The 2014 has been washed once since March. The 2011 still needs a wash. We do hit the windshields for bug cleaning though. A dryer sheet and water is our mix.

If you ride in pouring down rain, water washing isn't going to hurt your Spyder -- aggressive pressure washing excepted -- and common sense around the gauges/controls/switches assumed.

THE AFTER THE RIDE

I'll be brief ... wash it using A LOT OF WATER .... blow dry with 160 mph leaf blower .... soft dry chammy for touch up of windshield and mirrors ........ I do use a tooth brush on the wheels about 3 weeks at a time ( I have black :yes ...... I just watched a 5 min. video done by a professional CAR DETAILER .... everyone who thinks soft soft towels wrapped around the wheels prevents SCRATCHES !!! well you should watch this video ...... Mike :thumbup:
