• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

On way to Valcourt with sick spyder. BRP Techs available at the Homecoming?

2017 F3-s with apparent. VSS faults. Nanny is kicking in early and hard. Almost unlivable in the turns and I'm not even pushing her hard like some of you know I do.

Tried putting it in sport mode but it won't go into the mode so there must be a VSS fault. No codes stored showing on the screen.

Other neat-O thingy... While messing around trying to get it in Sport mode I change the speedo to KMph.... Can't change it back. Apparently that is a sign of a bad cluster/ECM.

Does anyone know if BRP will make any effort in Valcourt to look at or repair stricken spyders? I'm hitting a dealer in NY on Tuesday to at least see what they can find out.

There are a several Spyder dealers around the area that will be open all weekend for repairs. One of them is right across the street from BRP in Valcourt called Performance NC. The other 5 places are owned by the same person and have the same name.

Sorry, the site is in French

They have had factory service people available at every other owner event so I would certainly hope that they do this time also. Good luck getting her Dan I hope it decides to behave for you.

If not.....

There was a post recently of a dealer in the area of the event that offered special treatment for all traveler to Valcourt. I believe he said 75 min drive....:dontknow:

Dan,
Did all of this just start up without any other warnings?
One thing that you could take a quick look 9at:
Check to make sure that there's nothing caught in any of those cogs that are used to monitor wheel lock-up...
It's an easy thing to check, and it's always possible that something is clogging up the works.
(Although I'm not sure if this would impact the VSS, or ABS systems...)
Good luck!

Here's some info on a dealer:

Open invitation to the Spyder Homecoming participants!

We'd love to see you while you're near Valcourt or Drummondville. We're a short 75 minutes away and we're one of Quebec's largest Spyder dealers. We have won Canada's Spyder Retailer of the Year. We have a large selection of Spyder accessories and clothing in stock and we're be pleased to take service appointments for oil changes or other repairs or maintenance. We can extend our service hours if needed. We are located in St-Hubert, just on the south shore of Montreal. So, no worries - you don't have to cross into the busy traffic of Montreal City to reach us.

From Highway 30, we are at exit #73.

Drop by and say hi. We have a special gift for all Spyder Homecoming participants. Ask for Jessy or Luke.

Have a safe journey!

Had a friend a few years ago go to the BMW tour in Germany. He took his bike from here in the states. The techs and engineers wouldn't let him leave till the did all the up dates on the bike. After the tour they gsve it back to him. All done. I was amazed they did that.

Hi Wackydan,
There will be a technical service area at the homecoming - this is to help folks out with any technical issues or concerns on their vehicles, not for regular maintenance. In addition, most local dealers will be open all weekend. Please ride safe and we look forward to seeing you here.
Thanks,
Steve

My Spyder is in the shop. I had the top case put on an F3T and they can't get the Amp to activate. If I take it out of the dealer, will someone at BRP troubleshoot there in Valcourt? The dealer told me they are working with BRP anyway though a "link" :dontknow:

Thank you everyone... You guys are awesome.

Good news... It was the pinion switch. So I circumvented the thingy so it isn't stuck open/closed and she is back to her old self again.

I think it took a lot of life out of my brake pads though. :)

I believe Dan is referring to the Pillion switch or as it is better known as the Passenger Butt Detector. It is a input to the VCM Module along with the wheel speed sensors.

Yup.

What was driving me mad... Was that it was intermittent. Shut the bike down and she would be fine for a few miles. Sometimes after a few more she would loosen up again.
