• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I did Motorcycle Daves Gel seat diy inserts to both the rider and pillion portions of the seat.
A GREAT improvement comfort wise (thanks Dave :D), but found that the seat, due to the weight of two gel inserts, would not always stay in the raised position to pump gas.

The OEM manufacturer sells the replacement gaz shock for $95.00 .. !! .. no thank you :sour:

A visit to Pep Boys/O'Reilly got me a replacement for $25.99 (yes please) and it works perfectly.

I got this info. first from a member here who reported his satisfaction with this replacement - just cannot remember who right now, but many thanks :D

I love this forum :thumbup:

:clap::congrats:
We should probably remind folks that you don't need to remove the C-clips that hold the strut in place...
Just take a small screwdriver and pry up and under them: the strut just falls right loose! :thumbup:

There is also a stronger one from the same company. I put that on over the weekend. Now I don't have to lift my seat it jumps up by itself. I also have the m/cdave gel pad in my rider's seat only.

Avail on Amazon

Just checked on Amazon, it's available for $14.36 with Prime delivery. Thanks for the information, just ordered.

:lecturef_smilie: Be careful...
If you go too strong on that spring: it might turn into an ejector seat! :roflblack:

Now that would be a novel experience.

Actually I was having a little trouble with it staying up with the extra weight of the gel pad.
