• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

CALLED BERTS MEGA MALL TO RENEW MY WARRANTY. CAN ONLY GET A YR FOR THE BEST WARRANTY 560.00 FOR A YEAR ONLY COST ME 640.00 FOR 2YRS BEFORE

ANY OTHER GOOD DEALS GOING OR HAVING RS NOT WORTH RENEWING .EVERYONE'S OPINION APPRECIATED. OR AFTER MARKET??

THANKS IN ADVANCE

You can only get a total of 5 years coverage for the BEST warranty. When my total of 5 years under the BEST was up, I didn't bother to look for any other warranty for two reasons: 1. I don't believe in aftermarket warranties. 2. If my 2008 becomes what I think is too expensive to fix. I'll scrap it.

The best part is, if I scrap it, I'll get to come on here and cry the blues about how my spyder let me down, or that BRP sucks, or I have a bad dealer.

Depends....

How many times have you used the extended warranty..? I am not one to buy them from anyone as I have never had to use them. Many like the peace of mind and come to sites like this one and see nothing but problems. All the issues I have ever had have been my fault or normal wear items. As I see it it is a gamble, they gamble the company makes a good product and will last with no problems and you are gambling it will not..and you know how gambling works.. the house always wins. If you have disposable funds then it is nice to know you are covered...jmho:sour:

Very interesting concept Gene

Never thought of it that way

Five assorted :ani29:'s.

I have yet to pay for BEST. Got two free years with the 2014. Good until April 2018. The 2011 ran out in 2013. Just turned 25,000 and so far, no issues other than poor alignment. Has only needed tires, oil, a battery and filters. Will get new brakes next season.

I have also not been a proponent of extended warranties. I consider it a gamble of will it or wont it need major service. It's like which deductible should I get on the insurance.

When it comes to credit life, if financed, that is a downright NO. If I die, that's their problem. :roflblack:

I used it on my F3 when my water pump went out. Used it on my RS when my brake reservoir started leaking. I have never purchased extended warranties on my cars but have always purchased for the Spyders. I got the BEST extended warranty for 649.99 for 3 years. I thought it a pretty good deal.

i always thought warranties were a waste of time and money until i didn't extend one. then one of my bikes cost me 1100 bucks to fix one time. so i rather spent the money and not use it, then not have it

There are 10k of repairs on my f3 covered under warranty. I have a three year Can Am warranty. Can I extend it?

I believe you can get up to five years, but you must extend before the current one expires. Try Berts or Pitbull for some of the best price offers.

I normally avoid extended warranties but with all the computer systems on the Spyder plus the '14 RT having a new engine and trans I figured it a reasonable gamble. To date I've had only one issue, a defective parking brake motor that was replaced under the original 2 year factory warranty. Will cross the 25K mile mark next week and everything's humming along. I hope to be as fortunate as Spyder Ann and Murphy Brown as the odometer keeps rolling.

Better to have and not need than to need and not have. I GUARANTEE my Irish "Murphy's Law" says if I didn't have it I'd have a failure and pay out the yingus for a repair. Having an extended warranty means I won't HAVE a failure and need a repair. That's how it works (in my life). I got my 3 year extension from Bert's this month for $750. My dealer wanted $1100 and said they're now a "boutique" dealer rather than a discount dealer and so would not lower their price. I may lose not having to pay the $50 deductible but it would take 7 repairs to make up the difference and I've had the need for 2 in 7 years between 2 Spyders. Someone here said they got their 3 year (from WHERE?) for $649.99. Whaaaaat??? (I just fainted!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Di you have until the extended warranty expires or do you have to purchase before the original two year factory warranty expires?

I believe a warranty has to be in effect. So in my case, if I wanted the fifth year, I need to get it before the extended warranty expires in 4/18. They will correct me if I am wrong.

Check out Zurich. Most places accept it since they just pay with a credit card. A few, like my (what they describe themselves now as) "boutique" dealership do not. Stupid because they still get paid, but then they're the number one Can Am dealer in the Southeast so they sell only Can Am Spyders & ATVs, Sea Doo, Scarab boats, and suck on BRP's teet (BEST warranty).

Your mistake was not going with the 3 year when you had the chance. With Bert's it's $750.

If you're talking about me I bought 2yr from berts runs out next month. Bryce no longer there and their price for a year which is all I can get from the best warranty is ridiculous
