• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does Canbus have anything to do with the lighting
on a 2017 F3 Limited? I have a set of HIDs left over
from one of my scoots and would like to use them if
possible.

Thanks in advance!

CANBUS

From what I've read on this Forum, I don't think so. But check with Billy Bovine ...... Mike

The Can Bus is not directly connected to the headlights. But that is not the full answer. Any electrical accessory that is electrically noisy can interfere with the the communication on the Can Bus. HIDs are notorious for that. If the HIDs you have have not been designed to work on a vehicle with Can Bus it will be a problem.

my BMW K 1600 gtl had a can bus and it was very picky on what you could do to the bike. i had a hard time changing bulbs or adding lights to that bike

 HIDs might be a problem... :dontknow:

:D But LEDs aren't!

Not always. If anything is noisy in regards to EMI, problems happen.

Many places sell Can Bus filters for LED lights.

Spyders seem prone to issues with LEDs if they make noise, especially radio problems.

Not Just Radio Affected

Noise from LEDs can also cause problems for the CB... currently in the "proving stage" that my LEDs are / are not a problem (on my third CB unit).

All the best ... Ann

Well, guess I will stay with what I have for a while on the headlight department
and my radio is still not working right. As of last week it is hung up on AUX and will not
budge :gaah:, Headed to dealer tomorrow. probably just for grins and giggles.

Thanks for all the input.

Dray, try this. Ours acted up also. Remove the radio fuse. Let it bleed off all stored energy, so let it sit with no fuse while you have coffee and a muffin. Then reinstall the fuse.

Our radio went wonky too, think it also stuck in AUX, but that was a while ago. I too expected a trip to the dealer but for me this resolved it.

As for the LED lights, do not hold back, just buy quality items and ask if the company offers plug and play inline filters if needed.
