• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Upper & lower wind deflectors

Howdy! Got locked out on my old forum profile, so created a new one. I had a thread awhile back about the Madstad wiindshield. You ALL were very helpful. Now I need more help. I'm looking for some upper (under the mirrors) and lower wind deflectors. The only ones I can find are from Baker Air Wings. I had them on my Goldwing and they worked great. I see the ones they have for the F3, but it all seemed a little complicated. By the way, I have a 2016 F3 ltd. Any suggestions other than Baker Air Wings would be greatly appreciated.

Greg ;)

The Bakers wings are complicated in what way, Greg? I have them both on my F3-L and the install was pretty easy, except you have to drill a hole in the mirror cover for the hand wings, and replace one of the Tupperware screws with a longer one for the leg wings. I have not tried them in cold or wet conditions as yet, so I don't know how effective they are on the F3-L.

I have an F3-L with uppers only and I am now wondering what I need for my feet. A couple days ago I went through some rain and was a surprised that my feet were getting splashed. So, I'd like to know if the lowers keep the water off the feet??? Their website says: "Stop rain and wind on legs, knees, and thighs in cold and wet weather."
Thanks

Peteoz: They're only complicated for a person who learned how to start his car when he was 29. I'm not a wrench, and got a little spooked when the instructions called for "drilling." Seemed like lots of washers and spacers and grommets and......... Probably smart enough to do it, but just kind of nervous. Don't know about the rain splashing issue.

Hahaha.....you're not alone Greg, but the actual install really isn't as daunting as the instructions ;). I nearly passed out when I saw the washers and covers required for the leg fairings, but most of it had already been assembled before shipping. The drilling is only in the cover over the mirror and it is pretty straight forward.

...as far as wind/rain protection is concerned, the jury is still out. I can see a big gap between the leg wings and the frame, and sitting right behind that gap are my legs. Baker usually get it right, but I just haven't seen any first hand evidence of their effectiveness as yet.
