There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Many Bulgaries at Spyderfest!

Many bikes and vehicles were illegally entered last night at The Best Western Coach House, and the Lamplighter hotels! :yikes: The BW was hit somewhere around 4am. The thieves knew about the gloves boxes on the Spyders. Make sure your bikes are secured as best as possible. Tom :spyder:

:gaah: Tom,
I'm sorry to hear of this...
Make sure that everyone reports the losses to the Police, and gets Incident Numbers that the reports are filed under.
The insurance companies will probably ask for them...

Lamplighter Inn Was Hit On Tuesday Night

I was told this by a front desk person from the Lamplighter, who just happened to be in the lobby of the BWCHP+ this afternoon. What's most disconcerting is that NO WARNING was given to the Spyder Owners @check-in about the potential for criminal activity. Why this was kept secret to the guest, is anybody's guess. Knowledge is power. Had people been made aware that a break-in had ocurred @a sister property just down the street, extra precautions could have been taken to minimize the impact of the thieves.

CAMERAS

doesn't the hotel have security cameras......?????
my 1st and only visit to this event was back in 2014, and there was a number of reported problems then... you'd think that the hotels would have put in place some kind of remedy for this type of situation... dang, you can hire a security guard for the night at about $20 and hour....

Sad to hear.

I'm sorry to say that I presume light fingers are around any time I park overnight on our travels. Nothing of value is left in the bike. If they want my dirty socks, good luck to them.

When we travel with our bykes we trailer them at night and I have a monitor that we activate before bed that has a base unit right by my side of the bed. And I sleep very light.

What a bunch of punks. If we left our bykes out I think we would empty the center console and leave it up if it wasn't going to rain.

question for anyone that knows. is there any way the hotels can be held libel for any loss or damage done to the bikes. was there any signs posted saying they were not responsible for anything left in their parking lot or in the vehicles. i think they should be held responsible

Sorry to hear about the burglaries during SF. I hope everyone's spyders didn't get badly damaged.

When I was at SF in 2014 there was some vandalism done. Not sure what happen. Deanna

I hate to hear about the break in of spyders!

I'm sorry to hear that thieves have targeted Spyderfest attendees in Springfield this year. I plan on leaving tomorrow morning to attend the event. Even after hearing this I know Springfield, MO is a great place to live and visit. I live about 180 miles away now but I use to live much closer to Springfield. When I was younger I would drive to Springfield on most weekends and shop and eat out at some of the many wonderful places to dine. It is a shame that people will steal from others and I hope those responsible are caught very soon!

I hate this this has happened but I don't feel like the hotel should be responsible. Is your employer responsible for your vehicle while your at work? Are restaurants responsible while you are dining? I think not! It's a risk you take while away from your property. Lets just hope the thieves will not strike again.

let me ask you a question. your room is broken into at the hotel. and most of you stuff is stolen. would you expect them to pay for the stuff taken. it is their room on their property, right. same as your car or bike in their parking lot. there should be security cameras, or a guard for events or for guests safety. if a restaurant provides parking, or a boss provides parking, i would expect my car to be protected. if i parked on the street, it is my problem.

Park at front door

While it may be difficult at Spyderfest, As a general rule, I often ask to park under the front portico at the main entrance when I can't park directly outside my door. I have never been turned down. Something to consider.

just because there are cameras doesn't mean squat. you'd be surprised just how many commercial locations that have cameras that don't work. even some that do work are such poor quality you can't see that much. especially at night. most business owners don't want to spend much money when it comes to quality security. I've been in the security industry for well over 12 years and you'd be shocked to see some of the things I've witnessed.

if you look at most hotels there are signs posted in their parking lots that say they are not responsible for valuables left in your vehicle.

it's sad but it seems like that in the coming years someone is going to need to hire physical security guards for this event or a few folks are going to have to stay up all night sitting in the parking lot.

UNFORTUNATE

But this type of thing happens at motorcycle, car, airplane, and boat rallies/shows all over the country, all year long. Part of the downside to social media. I mean, we all want to know when and where the events are, but unfortunately, when we get the information, the f*****g crooks get it too. Knock wood, we have been lucky on our trips and have not suffered vandalism or theft. Hope it stays that way.

Oh, and BTW, surveillance cameras, unless one of the Alphabet Agencies put them there, are worse than useless. They waste time, energy, & resources. Grainy video anyone?

Actually no I wouldn't expect the hotel to pay for valuables stolen from a room unless there is proof that it was an employee that performed the thievery. Ok, so you expect your employer and any facility that provides "parking" to be responsible for your vehicle while on their premises? So that means if some jack @ss decides to break into your car, door ding your car or hit it while parking and leave without notifying it should be up to the business owner to reimburse you for thievery or negligence on someone else's behalf? Doesn't seem right and you are going to be in for a world of disappointment 95% of places. Now when I valet park my vehicle I expect it to be taken care of but that's why I pay upwards of $20 a day for the service. Anyway, lets just hope no ones bike was damaged and that the thieves will not return.
