RT LIMITED or F3 LIMITED

Just totaled 2015 RT Limited thinking on a F3 Limited. I ride 2 up 50 50. Has anybody changed from a RT to a F3 and is the difference that great. It is not riding season yet so I need a opinion thanks.

A test drive of both is in order to see which one you and her like the best. The ergos are different. Passenger should be with you on the test to see how you like the F3 as a touring platform.

Let us know what you do.

 I'm sorry to hear about the wrecked bike, and I hope that you are okay...

You need to put your "Best-Half" on the passenger perch of an F3, and let her decide for you. nojoke

If Mama ain't happy... :yikes:

Bummer on the totaling...I did that too.
I can't imagine your passenger will like the F3 after coming from an RT.
Better take them for a spin on one.

I finally got to see a F3 Limited, and as much as I would like to have an F3, I will not ask my wife to sit on that passenger seat for an all day ride. To me it was just uncomfortable, and like sitting on an inflated balloon. I can not see getting ride of my RT Limited, it is comfortable for me,, and comfortable for my riding partner, but then. we do have an Ultimate seat.

I made this switch last month. Haven't been great riding but she will drive it more than ride two up. It is her bike after all. The seat is NOT in the same ballpark as the RT. There are trade offs with the F3 that we are hoping will payoff.

:agree:, actually WE AGREE. Last month we "escorted" a spyder couple to our servicing dealer to have their '14 RTL issues sorted out. While they were talking with the service manager, we had a chance to both sit on a F3 Limited. Our findings were:
1. The ergos for both of us were UNCOMFORTABLE.
2. I worry about the weight distribution on the F3 Limited if you load up the side cases and the top case for a 3-5 day trip. Adding a rack or trailer to make a 7-10 day trip would make my concerns worse.
3. The shorter windshield would have to be changed out to give better wind protection
You might lookup Pierre's(SpyderTV) you tube 2 part evaluation of both Limiteds.

F3 would be awesome if I were single, my wife rode her own bike or it was 25 years ago. Very kool machine. But our RT is the one for us.
Traded my Ultra Classic in on it. Tell u anything?

We have the RT Limited just brought home a F3, my wife thinks the F3 is alot funner to drive which it is but for two people the Rt is the only choice really in (my opinion). It's comparable to like driving a luxury cruzer vs a jaguar.

I really don't agree that the RT is the only choice for 2-up. While I do think the RT is an excellent choice for 2-up, we have a F3, and we put 12000 miles on it last year - 75% of that was 2-up. Properly set up with a BRP passenger backrest and passenger foot boards my wife says she is very comfortable and loves riding on our F3! For me, the awesome handling and driver comfort are well worth a small compromise in 2-up!

I have to agree, I have the cargo and armrests on my F3T, and my wife loves it, and the sitting position for me feels like my bike. I really like the lower center of gravity feel.

It's a BRP Route 129 windshield that I cut down. I hate wind noise and buffeting of my helmet. I'm 6'4" and I've tried a lot of different windshields, including a 32" F4. I never found one that didn't buffet or wasn't noisy. The cut down Route 129 puts my helmet in pretty clean air. It keeps some of the wind off my hands and body, and isn't too noisy and doesn't buffet at all.
I'd love a windshield that blocks more wind, was quiet, didn't buffet, and doesn't look like a big ugly sail, but I haven't found one.

I don't like to chose 1 for the other, so I kept both the RTL and F3T.
Take the F3T when I ride solo and the RTL when I take the wife along.

This way, everyone is happy.

As for your question Plugger2, I suggest you go for the F3 Limited since you already had the 2015 RTL. Try something different; I don't think you will be disappointed.

Need encouragement can't wait to drive it.BRP did not even call me about accident as there was a hole in brake Line?

I love my RT, but I must admit I have been looking over the fence at the F3T. The prices of the left over 2016's is really drawing me in. Found a F3T limited for $20,999:yikes:. I am trying to resist, but don't know how much longer I can hold out:shocked::helpsmilie:.

I literally just came back from dealer and bought the f3t after test driving. Number 4 foot position sold me lol
