• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin Seat owners question ??

If you have purchased the "standard" Corbin seat, are you happy with it ?

I have talked to the Corbin people and they say that a ride-in seat is much better. I'm in SoCal and Corbin is just south of San Francisco. Being an Enabled Spyderlover, that is a long way to go to have a seat made if the difference is negligible.

I know it's a subjective opinion, standard vs. ride-in custom seat, but I'd sure like to get your feedback.

I'd appreciate any experience, opinions, etc.

:2thumbs: Have the standard Corbin heated seat and me and the misses love it .Mind you it took as told about 1500-2000 miles to break it in.

Right on...took at least 1,000 miles to fit in. I really felt disappointed at first, but stuck to it (hahaha) and really like it now. I even went back to the OEM, and remembered why I made the switch immediately.

The passenger seat will need adjustment. I need to take 1/2" of back padding out so she sits down into the seat and not on top of the seat. Since I don't do uphostery, I'm procrastinating.

I also have the regular Corbin seat (I did not know there was another option!) and I am loving it. Took a little bit to break in like others have said, but well worth the money.

I love my Corbin - but it did have the feeling of sliding forward at first - that went away once it broke in.

The passenger seat is certainly a concern.

If you can drive in- I would do it. I could not - and mine is great - but I'm sure it could be just 'that' much better if they actually fit it on site.

Received Corbin for my anniversary my husband ordered it and I love it.:doorag:

If you are capable of getting the ride in seat, I would do it. Your butt probably isn't the same as whatever mold they used for the "off the shelf" seat. So why take an "off the shelf" seat when you can have one made for your shape, height, weight, riding position, riding style, etc.

BJT:

For good folks like you and Deb whats another coast to coast ride.:roflblack:
Being on the right coast ..I m afraid i ll have to get one remotely ..

We ordered ours over the phone but we got the next best thing to ride in service, we got a Russell. You describe your riding style and how you want the seat to fit, take a few pictures of you on your ride in your desired riding position and they make a seat that they think will fit your needs. They hit it pretty darn close in both dltang's and my case, much closer than what the standard Corbin seat fit either of us.

Be patient... I may have a Corbin w/backrest for sale.. Hopefully in about 4 weeks or less... I am having a custom seat made as my hips/tail bones are not going to get used to the Corbin seat and I have over 12,000 miles..

I drove in and got my Corbin seat, but I got the standard heated seat. I wish I would have gotten a custom one. I hate sliding forward when I am riding on the back. My husband doesn't have that problem. A second backrest would probably help.

I have a standard Corbin seat, ordered online and I've absoluted LOVED it from the first moment I tried it out! I hated parting with the $$$, but now that I have it, I LOVE IT! I had terrible tailbone soreness with the stock seat even after short rides -- that's a thing of the past now.

It's CORBIN all the way for me!
