• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Most powerful Rotax engine

I doubt that you'd ever see the 300 horsepower version in a street-going version...
Between sound and emission regulations; they'd really have to put a muzzle on this monster. nojoke
NOTE: It IS supercharged!!
:D But it IS fun to see what they can do!

(Even a 170 or so horsepower version would be cool...)

I did note that they're only spinning it at 8,000 rpm. That's even below our very own 8,100 rpm limit.

Cool. ..

Although the cost of adding the transmission could slow things down and the space needed. They do have the lower hp models they could offer at least in the V-twin's like the ones used by aprilla motorcycles (140+)...Sadly I am past the "wanting more horsepower than I could ever use" stage...:roflblack:

2018

HOPEFULLY they'll introduce it in the 2018 models..... I'll buy 1....

Don't hold your breath...
They've still got a perfectly good; tried and true 1503 version available. nojoke

ROTAX 1630 ACE

If BRP would put something close to this in their RT and F-3's there would be a WHOLE lot of upgrading going on; Oh Yeh there would!!!!!!!:yes::clap::clap::thumbup::thumbup::ohyea::ohyea::ohyea::ohyea::chat:nojoke

Ps: now that the wife left to run an errand, one of those would be mine in a heartbeat!

Not again

I bought a 2012 with the 998 and than they release the 1330. I just bought the 1330 (waiting on delivery) and now they are talking 1503 or better. I can never get ahead of the game. LOL

That is a marine motor. Same issue as with the 255HP skidoo motors.... They produce that power but you have to remember that they use fresh cool water from lakes/oceans/etc to cool the engine... Something that would be very difficult to do on a Spyder without adding a bunch more cooling.

You ok?

221 kW converts to 296 "standard" HP, and the 300 metric HP multiplied by 0.9863 equals 296 "standard" HP. I guess metric horses are about 2% smaller than U.S. horses :D.

H2O

.
I was wondering the exact same thing. Bet it would be bear to cool it on a byke! But, if you could, what a ryde!
