• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I ordered one set of Corbin Silver saddle bags for my Spyder and one set of primer saddle bags for my wife's Spyder (hers is painted a custom color). Also ordered 2 rear fenders and smugglers trunks.

Received both sets in about 3 weeks which was great. (exactly when Corbin promissed them).

Went to install the Silver on my bike and first thing I noticed is the left bag did not line up with the bracket. I figured my bracket installation was off slightly but I ended up enlarging the mounting holes in the Saddle bag about 1/8" to get it to fit. Got both of them on then noticed 3 spots on the left bag where the paint is bubbled. Called Corbin and sent a picture and they are going to send a replacement (very satisfied).

While waiting for the painter to paint my wife's bags, I decided to install all the brackets so the bike would be ready. On both of the rear tail brackets, they did not tap the threads into the bracket far enough. After screwing in the bolt about 1/2 way, it stopped. Tried to force it a little more and broke the bolt off in the bracket. Tried the other bracket and encountered the same resistance. Called Corbin and they sent one entire set of brackets and hardware within 3 days (very statisfied with response, not Quality control).

Then I got a call from my painter wanting to know if he should fill in the 3 holes on the front of the saddle bags. After much discussion, the holes he is taking about is suppost to have a foot pad. Apparently Corbin failed to include them in the box. Called Corbin today and they are going to send a set to me. Once again satisified with the response from Corbin but unhappy with the QC.

Received the new brackets for my wife's bike and the installation went as planned except one of the wiring harness provided by Corbin was missing the electrical end connector. Lucky they sent me an extra installation kit with the new brackets.

Picked up the custom painted bags from my painter and started installation without the rubber kick pads. Noticed small scratch in the fresh paint...AHHHHHHH. Touched it up with the touch up kit he provided and figured he can fix it another time. Had the same hole allignment issue on the left (clutch side) bag. After enlarging the holes about 1/8" again, everything appears to fit and is installed.

Corbin has been very good about responding to the issues I have but it would have been nice if they would have caught them in the factory before sending. I love the size and look of them on the bike and with any luck, they should be correct soon. It will be very nice to have all that extra room.

We are leaving Sunday for a 9 day trip. It should make packing much easier.

Did anyone else have an alignment problem with the left side? If you order these from Corbin, take a real good look at everything to make sure you have all the correct pieces and they work.

At least ir gave me something to do for the last couple of days in the 109 degree heat.

This Post is worthless without pics...give up the pics.

The only points;
a. was to note that whatever could go wrong did
b. find out if anyone else had a fit problem with the left side
c. Let everyone know to check their Corbin order and allow a little extra time

What would photos help? Why would anyone want to see the paint bubble, a broken wire or a broken bolt....thats seems pointless.:dontknow:

I agree with both of you, somewhat. On the one hand, why show pictures of something thats broken as long you make people aware of what some of the issues might be and get the word out that you want to solicit feedback from previous owners. On the other hand, it can help people to know where to look and what to look for when looking for the defects.

The Stars are not in Line?

Shouldn't it be the holes are not in line?:roflblack: I think you are correct with a product costing nearly 2000 dollars it should not have these problems!:lecturef_smilie:

Pictures

Ok, here are the pictures.

This first and second picture is the bubble in the paint. Third picture is the missing foot pad which should be mounted on the bag right above the passenger peg and the last one is my ultra human strength that sheared the bolt off.

Corbin called me today and they are going to 2-day air the foot pads so all in all they have been really good about it. Its just a minor setback and a little extra work.

I sure wish my wife would do her own mods although everything goes better and faster the second time.

You just reminded me, I sheered off one of those bolts too. My first mistake is I put the short in first. :opps: I threaded it in by hand but it got so it wouldn't go in and it wouldn't come out. It snapped off in the bracket just like yours and I had to drill it out and run a tap through it. I now use all thread on that side.

I am sure I put the correct end in first but when I looked into the hole, I could see shards of metal where they did not clean it out.

The problem is stainless will gaul up on you real easy. Like I said I hand threaded mine in and it got tight so when I went to back it out it locked up. Then I couldn't go in or out.

I don't need pictures to know I would think more than twice before I would spend $2000 with a company and sends out products like that. :yikes:

Don't get me wrong...I think the product is great. I love the way they look and the added room but do agree they need a little more QC. They have been very good about sending me replacement parts. In the end I will be very happy with them. A smaller company would have made me send the bag back to have it re-painted then send it back to me. Corbin is sending me a new painted bag then I can send the old one back.
I just think I got all the problems at once so hopefully I saved 5 other customers a problem. lol
