• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

More Taillight!

I went to Michaels craft store and bought a bag of plastic jewels to add an almost free additional taillight. Remove your reflector/license plate light and very (VERY) carefully drill a hole in the reflector at the location of the license plate illumination bulb and then super-glue one of the large red (or blue?) jewels over the hole. Be very careful as the red reflector plastic is very brittle, start with a small drill bit then slowly use a reamer to enlarge the hole. You can see where I tried to remove the red reflector plastic so I could just put a hole in the black plastic case but the reflector started to crack so don't try that. I added red jewels on each side of the case for additional side marker illumination.

Rear Pegs

Rear pegs are finally on and... well... She's finished. Other than a possible SpyderPops lighted bump skid later this year... She's DONE. I'm definitely happy with her.

See that little ball on the end of the spring? I hate that ball. HATE IT. With the burning hatred of a thousand Suns. That little ball is an a**hole.

Do tell...

I chased that little ball around the parking lot at least half a dozen times. And it hit me in the face. IN THE FACE! I invented some curse words, lol. I finally had to drill the holes in the pegs out a little larger, so the ball could fit inside the hole. Apparently they were just a little bit off on my pegs.

Maybe a dab of grease would have kept them where they belong? (Just Monday Morning quarterbacking)
Glad you got it sorted out. I need to take on the highway brackets and pegs at some point..

Thought I'd post a quick picture of the Sport to Touring change... Moving from stock Sport windshield to OEM 23" Ultra Touring, installing OEM quick detach saddlebag brackets, OEM saddle bags, new style OEM passenger backrest, and OEM top box takes about 10 minutes.

When camping, I carry a large, 12 person, Coleman Instant Tent that rides on my back seat, though it can get in the way of seeing behind me in the mirrors. Finally threw on some Up & Out mirror extensions from Custom Dynamics. I now no longer see my hands/forearms/elbows, and I can see around the tent. Should have done this long ago.

Love the tour pack on the back!!!

i also had fender lights on the 2012 RS-S and loved them. They seem really bright as first but after the first ride I found zero distraction for me and didn't pull from adjusting eye vision at all. Really great for truly letting other Vehicles around you at night know exactly how wide you are front and back. Can't tell you how many times a car almost clips a front wheel being too close at lights in traffic etc.
the other trick I pulled was I ran the fender lights spiced off the front turn signals SO whe. I used a directional the entire fender would flash as well! Not just that little turn signal mirror.

Hi,

Do you ride with the fender LEDs on? If so, is it distracting or blinding at all?

Thanks,

I do ride with them on. I have them set to come on with the key. As said above, the first time you ride with them, you notice them. Not really a distraction, just... I don't know... Different. After you get used to them, they are no problem. I've had no issues with them being too bright. Now, the only time I even notice them is on cold nights when I'm wearing a full face AND glasses... I can see the reflection from the glasses off the inner side of the full face shield. Doesn't block vision or anything like that, just noticeable.

They DEFINITELY garner attention from other drivers as they are almost impossible to miss. I now have a LOT less people pulling out in front of me or trying to come over on me from other lanes.

Good info. In DC motorcycles are invisible, so more visibility is better!:banghead:
