There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Can anyone tell me if I have an Ipod touch and have Spotify saved music, can I advance songs or have any control of it?
I have a 15 Rts with the 30 pin cable adaptor.

I'm not 100% sure about the Ipod Touch, but I think any Ipod should work. I have an older model of Ipod and I'm able to control it from the handlebar buttons. I don't recall the exact name of my model, but below is a photo of it. Like I said though, I think any Ipod should work (but I've been wrong a few times in my life).

The first generation through the fourth generation works the best on the 2015 RT. And yes you can control the music from the handlebar control button. I found it is best to use Playlist. Later to night I will PM you on to control the music and my phone number. I found it is easier to repair iPod touches than to use iTunes.😬

I despise iTunes. I use a free app called CopyTransManager which allows you to transfer songs from your computer to your iPod without having to use iTunes.

Love my iPod Touch

Tom is right on. You should have no problem as long as your music files are stored and playable in iTunes. I keep about 1500 upbeat "highway" tunes on mine in one big playlist. I always keep my ipod touch in Shuffle mode, Velcro it in the trunk, and forget about it. Every couple months I pull it out to update the huge playlist. It works perfectly.

Really? The iPod Touch requires that the music files are in iTunes format? That sucks! I have the iPod Nano and my MP3 files play perfectly. I was thinking of switching to the Touch, but not if I have to use iTunes! Thanks for the heads up.

Pam. I think I wasn't clear. Itunes will play (or convert) almost any music format. I prefer MP3 (rather than Apple's AAC) because it it the industry standard. Since iTunes is the built-in App, I haven't bothered with any others.

Ah ok..... :) I guess I misunderstood :banghead:

All of my music is in MP3, some of it from back in the Napster days (remember that?). Nowadays, I purchase my tunes from Amazon, which comes in MP3. I dislike iTunes and won't use it or purchase music from Apple. I transfer my music from the computer onto the iPad using CopyTrans so I don't have to use iTunes.

It's good to know if I switch to the Touch.

The following are the steps to control your music from an iPod

Plug iPod into the trunk (the IPod can be off)
Close trunk

Turn on the key.
Press the mode button after diagnostics is complete

Then start pressing the set button until you see AUX or IPOD screen (AUX will show up until the iPod turns itself on) wait on the AUX screen until it changes to IPOD.

When the music start you can press and release the right arrow button to skip a song.

If you have multiple playlist (the bike must be running) then do the following step:

To change playlist from the main screen or the iPod screen press and hold the right arrow button until the music stop then release. This allows you to scroll through your playlists

If the bike is not running when you press and hold the right arrow button it brings up a configuration menu (most times).

I added to the first file in each playlist an audio files (mp3) that said what playlist is playing. That way I can keep my eyes on the road. My mp3 files say "Playlist 2016 or Playlist Oldies"

I hope this helps

Thanks everyone for your help. I was anticipating getting Spotify to be able to save and play music while not connected to the internet.
But I found out today that the Ipod touch 4th gen. I have is running Ios 6.1 and cannot be upgraded to Ios7 which is what Spotify requires.
And being computer stupid doesn't help at all. :cus::cus::cus:

I am running the latest version of ios on all the ipod touch that I have setup to use on the RT. The new version that is coming out on September 17th (10) will not run on the 5th or older iPod touch.

That's cool Geoandkay, can your share with me those 1500 upbeat "highway" tunes to me.
Cause usually I listen to FM radio only and don't really pay attention on the Artise and Songs Title.
It will be a Great help if you can send them to me so that I can have a more enjoyable ride...Cheers
