Installed an F4 windshield on F3/S, now getting exhaust fumes - anyone got a spare F3 Touring muffler?

After installing an F4 windshield on the F3, I have had a continuing issue with exhaust being drawn up into my face by the vacuum created by the windshield. What I would like to do is install an F3 touring muffler on it to make the exhaust exit farther back out of the vacuum. So I'm looking to purchase a muffler from one of you folk who have a spare floating around. Thanks Dave

Had the same issue put a set of Baker under mirror wings, took care of the issue. I don't thing the touring muffler will work as just an R&R.

Thanks, for the word on the wings. I'll check into it. I know the touring muffler will tie onto the pre-muffler, the mounts are the only thing I'd have to fab.

I had the Pit Bull exhaust system put on at Spyderfest. Love the sound and looks. It also extends about a foot further back than the stock muffler. Also try adjusting the angle of the F-4. I was working with Don at F4 to address the problem. Mine is fine now.

What did you do besides the normal adjustments? I have raised the front of the windshield an inch and that helped.

When did you get your F4? Mine was one of the first made. I cut the lower corners to create more air flow. My wife bought one at Spyderfest this year. Hers is about two inches above the cowl mine is almost flush with it. My wife has no problems with exhaust smell. I am going to cut mine at the lower front like hers.

I got my F4 in October '15 and it is nearly flush with the cowl. Like I said it helped to raise it an inch, but your saying the newer versions are about 2 inches above the cowl?

My F4 arrived yesterday ... 9/15/16 ... installed it's just about 1" above the cowl, maybe less.

Riding it up and down my driveway yesterday at 15-20 mph in the lowest position did give me some exhaust smell that I posted about.

Today, I had a Shoei full face on, the 28" windscreen in the highest position and only got a whiff of exhaust occasionally. Maybe more than occasionally ... especially riding in town at lower speeds.

I think the fix would be a slight "flip" at the top of the windscreen. But, that's just a guess.

Do you have any pics of the cut shield?

How did you cut it?

Someplace in the F3 forum there are some of my pictures that show where the corners were cut. I used a Japanese cabinet maker's saw. It cuts backwards and very fine. I clamped the part to be removed in the vise. I taped the windshield to keep it from chipping. Sorry I'm late, but I was at the machine gun shoot over the weekend.
