• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best way to clean off wax?

I want to apply some "Wrap My Spyder" decals. I already have a few that I put on when it was new and they stick on great. I have more to apply but have also applied a couple coats of carnuba wax. Has anyone had problems with the recommended alcohol cleaning not working?

Maybe Prep Sol. It's used to remove wax before painting. Most auto parts stores sell it or auto body paint stores also have it.

Dawn dishwashing liquid will remove wax on a car so I am sure it would work great on your bike. In the world of waxes, Carnauba doesn't last all that long. The longer in the sun, the Carnauba breaks down.

Varsol

When I called Turtle Wax because their wax wouldn't go off my mate car moulding, they recommended varsol with a tooth brush. It did the job in a snap....

Never heard of varsol. Any idea what else it might be called? I am familiar with "PrepSol" though, i'ts used prior to painting as a final cleaner. Is that what varsol is?

Go to an automotive autobody and paint supply
company in your town and buy a can of
3M or Dupont wax and grease remover,
That is the best way.

I wouldn't use paint thinner or varsol on my paint. It does exactly what it says. "Paint thinner"

You can also get a paint cleaner which will remove the wax.

There is no wax in this and it will clean your paint without hurting it.
