• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone purchased a bike remotely from iMotorsports?

I have a deal being worked with them. Pricing worked out with shipping new bike to me and trade in back to them is pretty good.

Got the financing for the trade difference worked out at a great rate with my local credit union and they sent drafting instructions (payment guarantee) to iMotorsports.

Then everything has gone sideways. Still trying to work it out but at the moment they are demanding full certified funds payment before shipment. Financial institution has refused and its highly out of normal business practice. It all feels very shady now. Just that 'something is not right' feeling.

We are still trying to work out something that works for both us and them but not done yet. Since they are a forum sponsor and I have seen others on here mention doing business with them, thought I would ask how things have gone.

I still hope this goes well later today but just about ready to walk away and start over elsewhere. Its just that the have the bike and agreed to a very fair price for it and our trade. Hate to start over.

Why can't buying bikes and cars be as simple as placing an order on Amazon?

Prepaying prior to delivery is Normal Operating Procedure--I think your credit union sound fishy--not the dealer---what's with a "promise to pay" letter--never heard of that payment arrangement especially on an out of state purchase:hun:

Financial institution drafting instructions for electronic payment is the norm for large financial payments. Not paper checks by snail mail. I have been through this many times. Last time with Bank of America between a branch here in Houston and a seller in AR, same routine. If the dealer is providing the delivery, you do NOT move funds before the item is delivered. You have no recourse against failure to deliver the bike. Delivery happens when the vehicle is delivered to my driveway, not when its promised to be put on a truck.

If you are picking up the vehicle in person then delivery happens at the dealership but that is not possible on a long distance transaction such as this. Delivery happens at my home and that is when funds are transferred. The drafting instructions are the guarantee that this will happen as soon as proof of the delivery is given to the financial institution. In this particular case, the proof is a copy of the receipt from the county tax assessor's office that the title has been applied for. Absolutely nothing fishy going on here on either end. Its all been worked out. Just waiting on delivery.

When you buy a car at a dealership and finance at the dealership, the bank does not run over with a paper check before you drive off. They send drafting instructions on approval of the loan. This is exactly the same, just long distance.

Tried that. Even with shipping cost they would not come within 1500 of the same numbers. Tried Mancuso and Conroe. Mancuso would have had to beat the deal by a large margin to convince my wife of EVER doing business on a new bike with them again. Conroe was nice and professional to deal with but admitted they could not come close to the deal. Accused iMotorsports of selling below cost.

It is what it is I suppose.

When I was looking to trade an RS for a F3 I shopped around my local dealers and I found the same thing with large separation in what one dealer was willing to sell and what trade value I would be offered. When all was said and done the difference was close to 4k and I had to drive 2 hours for the deal instead of 15 mins for an in-town dealer. He said the same thing about other dealer selling below cost, really? and how could one do that and still stay in business. I think it is more like where one dealerships profit bottom line is compared to another.

Follow up post.

Louise new F3-T was finally delivered late last night. Its in perfect condition and she is very happy. We hope to have all the paperwork soon to title and register the bike. iMotorsports also picked up her 2015 RT-S which is on its way back to IL.

Don't you know we all want pictures of the new ride.

Maybe you can send your trade-in first, then they send the new one. They are concerned that they send you the new one and do not get your trade-in. Or it is not as you told them. I know you would not do that but there are unethical people out there.

It was down to 3

I too was shopping and, and had decided on these 3 dealers

1. Louis Motorsport

Requested a quote ononline got an email that said thanks and we want to give you some cash to spend and attached a $10.00 coupon:roflblack:

I wrote them back and said thanks for the $10.00 but I really wanted a quote on 16 RT-Limited, got a call a day later and they were $3,545.00 dollars higer than the other two dealers. When I mentioned that the guy said there must be some mistake in our system I will call you tomorrow. That has been 2 days ago now. (Lost my business)

2. Checked out Imotorsports, very professional on the phone gave me thier price, pretty decent and would ship to my house.

3. Local-ish dealer, beat out Imotorsport by a few hundread, walked me an wife through every little detail of the bike, and they seem to have the best prices on Labor hours in the area.

Now we are just working out the details, BRP has on the Website 0.9% for 60 months why not use someone elses money and keep mine in place. Hopefully tomorrow or Saturday it will be a done deal.
