• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

f3 conversion kit

Now that the RSS is gone, do any of the aftermarket people here plan to make a kit to convert the F3 cruiser riding position to something more like an rss or st position? Essentially, I'd need a taller seat and my feet moved back more underneath me.

Leg position

The RIP floor boards offered by Lamonster will allow you to move your feet back 90 degrees to your hip. You still have a pretty long reach to the brake, but I have found that the RIP boards allow me to significantly change my riding position. There are also gel, pads that will raise your seat several inches.

 You're going to try to "turn an avocado; into an outboard engine." :dontknow:
The lower seating position is exactly what BRP was looking for in the F3. It gives them the much lower center of gravity that allows them to relax Nanny's grip on the rider. It also allows for the far more marketable cruiser-style seating position.
Conversion kits won't be happening.
Sorry!

different foot support location?

You mean like something on which you can actually support some body weight before slamming over a speed bump or rough railroad crossing, taking the weight off your spine?

I've got a spare set of driver's footpegs from an RT I'm going to try mounting on the "3rd Peg" middle location, with longer bolts ordered from the Bolt Depot.

This is what I've ordered; will let you know how it works out.

Here's how my experiment turned out. Likes: Looks just like the other two pegs; Dislikes: Would be nice to have these dropped an inch or two.

Looks good. I agree it would have to be dropped. Could make a bracket to do that easy enough. Of course its all speculation until you build it and give it try. Might make the F3 a ridable machine for me?

Getting into a more comfortable riding position is the reason I designed the Seal Floorboard for my first Spyder, a 2009 RS. Same thing goes for the F3. Being able to move my feet and hips around made all the difference in the distance and comfort of the ride. Also a huge help getting on and off my ride.
Ride in comfort,
John
