• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

corbin/brp seat

I have no trouble at all on long or short trips with the standard seat without a back rest. If I spent the bucks for a Corbin anything I would doubtlessly love it too. I am 6'3" and 250 if you need that to judge for size. I have had cycle riders come up and look and sit on my seat and say it in the stock form is far superior to what they have. One guy at a car show yesterday asked if it was memory foam or similar stuff. Works just fine with me and like I always say it came with the bike. Bill

We absolutely love our Corbin seat. I was a little concerned when we ordered it, but the quality and comfort is terrific! :shemademe_smilie: Actually it was my wife's idea as she just wasn't comfortable with the stock seat

and now she really enjoys riding.

Very good..
I do hope you ride it more than to the store... I have almost 12K and it has been returned to Corbin once, and I have now riden it almost 6k, and please don't ask what I really think.
I used a air hawk, single sheep skin, and then a double sheep skin for my trip to LA. If I had not had the additional stuff on the seat I would have died. As it was it was very very uncomfortable..
Like LaMonster says, some has stock butts, some Corbin butts, and some has Day Long Butts. Needless to say my corbin is going bye bye as soon as I get a "My Butt seat."

let me know what you find

Definitely NOT the Corbin seats. I'm still asking about the BRP Comfort Seat and the Mono Seat Cowl too. It would be tight if it did.

Please let me know what you find out. I was hoping that BRP would come out with a seat that had a removable backrest for the driver where the mono seat cowl would still work...maybe it's too much to ask for.

Yeah, the seat cowl will break off sooner or later anyway...darn rubber tabs are useless...argh! What a horrible system to use...

There's a whole thread on how to replace the little rubber tabs with two side velcro strips that overlap underneath the seat. I've yet to do it. Lazy is all. The Spyder rydes just as good without the seat cowl as with!;)

Corbin Trunk Box

We bought the Corbin trunk box with the back rest. Expensive, but worth the comfort and extra storage. The back rest is very comfortable! We still have the factory seat on our bike and like it as well.

I wish I would have known that Forest. I would have offered to let you sit on my Russell seat on any of those days we were traveling together out to LA. You might have been able to get an idea about how the Russell seats would work for you.

I will say that in 2 days of back to back iron butt rides, a 500 mile ride day, 2 days of about 200 miles and another 6 days of 500 mile rides, my butt was never the determining factor in me pulling over or quitting a ride for the day. I do generally ride my Spyder daily but probably only average about 20 - 30 miles per day (around town, back and forth to work, church, etc.) so its not like I was conditioned to long distance rides. Definitely nothing approaching 1,000 miles like I did the first two days of the LA trip. I am totally sold on the Russell saddles and highly recommend them to anyone seeking a better seat.

Stupid Seat Cowl

So, my seat cowl is coming...had I known that the tabs would eventually break off I probably wouldn't have ordered it. Where is the posting regarding how to fix this?:gaah:

Amanda, do a search in the "How To" forum for two side velcro as that is the fix. Make four straps. Attach under the seat cowl where the rubber tabs went. Straps go around and under the seat and overlap each other. Left to right.
