• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I installed a the newest farkle on my 2014RTS-SE6, and here some pictures: New Radio Antenna on 2014RTS-SE6 001.jpg

New Radio Antenna on 2014RTS-SE6 002.jpg New Radio Antenna on 2014RTS-SE6 003.jpg I broke my original antenna when I was putting on the my 1/2 cover. I bought the short antenna/ and antenna boot from Pitbull.

I used a 7 mm deep socket wrench to install my new short antenna. The radio is stations are very clear.

I slide the antenna boot over the short antenna, and cut a small slice in the boot( as seen I picture). It took about 5 minutes to complete the job. Deanna

That looks great! I'm thinking about getting one myself. I'll check out Pitbull's website.

Looks great, Deanna. Nicely done!

I had to replace my original antenna too. I got it from Tampabay power sports. I put the boot back on by cutting it like you did. Nice job.

That is OUtstanding!.jpg

But I have questions:
Is that the OEM antenna for the 2016 models?
How much Loc-Tite did you put on the threads? (They say to use the tiniest amount possible!)
I've got to pull my whip, and see if I can figure out why my reception is non-existent! :gaah:

Pam, I ordered the radio antenna boots 4th of July week, ( Pitbull said they were sold out) but as soon as they got the antenna boots, they sent me 2 of them, and I bought the short antenna also from Pitbull.

It was easy to install the short antenna, radio antenna boot. Deanna

Bob, Thanks!

Check Pitbulls website ( antenna parts # 710005084).

I did not use any Loc- Tite on the threads, but I will, thanks for the reminder.

I was getting good radio reception, when I had the OEM radio antenna. I broke it when I was putting on my 1/2 cover. Deanna

Get the shorty from Walmart $5 and cut away a bit of the rubber boot because the base of the shorty is bigger than the old one, then use black 3M weather stripping to seal and mold the opening that you made at the top.

Cool

Well aren't you just a little handy dandy. Good job, came out great:joke::joke:

I had ordered the 2 antenna boots, and the short antenna from Pitbull. I will get the 3M weather stripping, and seal a round the opening that I made. I will get LOC-Tite also. Thanks for the suggestion.

I also got the short antenna ( Scosche # RMA900) as a spare.

;) I had an idea... (I know: it's a scary concept!)
Mike has talked a lot about using a star washer under the antenna, rather than Loc-Tite... It's certainly worth a thought!
