• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. THAT PESKY REAR TIRE VALVE

Found this at Wal Mart. Think it was about $9.00. Makes it really easy to check rear tire pressure. Actually getting air into the tire is another story.

I found that same on.....

I was in the mountains this weekend and went looking a pressure gauges to check my pressures in my tires. The one on the bike was dead. I found this same unit at TSC for the same price. It does make it easier to check the pressure in the rear wheel and it has a replaceable battery. No more dead gauge.

How is this easier than a simple push on to get a reading type checker ?????...........The one you have, needs to be screwed on......jmho.....Mike

I'm with you on this Mike. I think they will find that they lose air unscrewing it. Cycle Gear sells a nice one with the long hose that just pushes on and I use that.

Here's how I do it....

This is the easiest and best way I have found for that pesky valve. You can do it from either side and the one I use fills as well.

I use the same one...

This gauge does not require being screwed on (just push it on like most other gauges) and the flexible hose makes it easier to maneuver into the confined space. You can also read the gauge much easier and has accuracy of 0.5 lbs. The hose wraps around the gauge for compact storage too. Everyone has their favorite, but I like this one too.

Update: The manufacturer is Slime and can be found in any department store or auto parts store.

Cool! :D

Mike, I beg to differ. The one I pictured is a simple push on - not a screw on, as there are no threads on the end that connects to the valve. The reason I know, is I just went out to the garage and checked with a light & magnifying glass. You are right about stuff about 99.9% of the time, so I wanted to make sure before I opened my yap. Boilermaker, you are right, it is made by Slime.

Thanks! :D
Since I'm STILL using the gauge from my 2010 RT; it's probably time to start looking for a proper replacement for it!

I have the same tire guage. Works good except kind of hard to read in bright sunlight. I eventually switched to Fobo.

 But you need a smart-phone... :banghead:

And I'm too dumb, to use one of them! nojoke

Yeah Bob, your'e like me, my smart phone is smarter than me. But, then again, that ain't sayin' much about me.

But for crying out loud, IT'S JUST AN AIR PRESSURE GAUGE!! Hope the big letters got my point across. I hardly ever use them.
