Well I got my new 4" risers installed on my Spyder. It ended up taking me about 3-1/2 hours.
Part of that was 2 trips to Checker Auto for things I did not have (torque wrench and then adapter from torque wrench to socket) and about 20 minutes trying to find the small plastic push fastener that I dropped into the cluster panel. I finally gave up then later during the install I heard it drop to the ground.
Install was pretty straight forward and I think installing the second pair on my wifes Spyder should take about half the time. I tell her that is because I don't care as much about her bike. LOL The worst part is putting the reverse cable back in to the holder. takes about 3 hands to get the cable and the lever in the right place before you quickly shut the case over the bars. Hoping the second one will be easier.
I do suggest going on the NMN site and printing the pictures in color. Big difference than the black and white copies that come with the risers.
My only comment after my first ride is I have this thought in my head that they will come off or rotate forward when I brake heavy and the force of my body is pushed onto the bars. They are very solid and attached well but I can't seem to talk my mind into that. I guess it will take a couple more miles to get used to the feel. I love being more upright on the bike and think it will really make a difference on the long rides.
