• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Enjoy your Holiday weekend and be safe out there, but please just take a moment of your day on Monday to remember what Memorial Day is all about..

Something I read

Something I read a long time ago but stuck with me.....

"To those who have fought for it, freedom has a special flavor the protected will never know."

Tough one...

It is getting harder as we deal with the entitled generation. I think about it all the time and ask the question but seldom get the answer....What is Memorial Day..? I will always be :bowdown::bowdown: for those that made our lives possible and those that keep us safe now....

The boomers are the last generation that seem to have the emotional ties to Memorial Day. It is a shame that this holiday may phase itself out as time marches on. I hope very much that I am wrong.

...or soon it may simply be "politically incorrect" to commemorate those who died while fighting wars. But not to worry... The next generation will have a new holiday commemorating the repeal of the Second Amendment. As you say... Time marches on. :sour:

But for now... God Bless our fallen vets!!

I hope your wrong too. Fyi maybe its different for me living next to an airbase but my area has all ages that care & respect our service people. We are quite happy to run off those that dont. All my friends have family either have or currently serving if not themselves

Also next to a couple big bases. Elmendorf and Fort Richardson. Respect for military is big here also.

Next gen

I am certain the respect is continued:
my son is a SFC, U.S. ARMY. On active duty, Regular Army, serving in Special operations. He and his fellow soldiers are keeping the traditions alive. I can't speak to the rest of America's young people, but I am quite proud of mine!
Godspeed to those who gave all in the defense of this great nation!! We are forever in your debt! HOOAH!
Joe
