• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. iphone plug relocation question

I have the 2014 RT Limited,,,,, has anyone changed the location of the truck plug for the IPhone/Ipod to maybe put it on the Dash or in the *lap Pouch* (don't know the proper name of it) I love the fact of listening to my own music & also always having my cel fully charged when getting off the bike,,,,, but kinda a pain with it being in the trunk & not being able to see who may be calling or changing playlist without having to pull over.

also am in the process now of adding some better speakers to my Spydy to make it louder & crisper sounding..................

figure I would kill 2 birds with one stone while having it tackled

Yes you should be able to move the connector if you want. It's a 7 pin DIN connector. But I do not remember anyone saying they did move it. The other easier option is to get a BT stereo receiver and plug it into the trunk. Then pair your phone with it. I believe Lamont sells a unit like that.

You did not say what kind of phone you have but if it is an Iphone you should be able to change playlist from the handle bar controls. I can with my ipod.

yes I have an iPhone,,,,,,,,,,, the BT option may not work as I also ride with scala 9 unit when riding in a group & it is BT to it & I am thinking you cant have 2 items BT at once............

Your iphone will pair with more than one thing at a time it depends on what they are. Someone with iphone experience may give you better advice.

Changing playlists while driving. If you have setup to display radio functions on your main screen it will say ipod. You can do it from there. If not go to the audio screen. Also from the audio screen it will tell you what playlist you have gone to. Do a long press on the right directional button. Followed by a short press will change playlists.

awesome that will solve 1 issue still would like to have the phone nearer to me to see who is calling when on long rides. unless here is a way that will show up on the Speedo screen as well

blueknight moved his, I saw it at SF. He said that there was just enough length to put it in the glove box. The BT receiver should connect with at least 2 things, the trick will be the sequence that you connect and to which connects to which. i.e. people with GPS need to connect the GPS to the phone first then the phone to the helmet, using memory here so its could be the other way around.:banghead:

I was using my iPhone 6 but it kept locking up about an hour using it. I now use an iPod touch 2nd generation and it works great. You should be able to find an 8gb one on craigslist for about $30 to $35 Price range. Now my phone is freed up so I can stop and take pictures or use the phone. I keep the phone in a pouch on my glove box.

:agree:. that is the best solution. You can stick almost any iPod in the trunk and control it with the multi-function switches. I use a 4th generation nano. I keep my phone in a TechGripper mounted on top of my glare shield. It's paired to my headset and to my FOBO TPMS. If I kept it in the glove box, I'd always be forgetting to take it with me when I left the Spyder - "Out of sight, out of mind". :sour:
