• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm interested in a ultimate seat and have been asking questions and reading posts but haven't asked or noticed posts about passenger comfort. Any feedback would be great
 
I too have been considering seat options.
Most of the seats like BRP Comfort and some ultimates set back 1.5 to 2 inches for driver comfort.

Doesn't this equate to a cramped space for the +1?
 
I can't comment on the passenger comort on a tall boy seat, but on our 2015 RT Limited, my wife says she is more comfortable than she was on our Harley Ultra Classic. I would have to say the same thing about the rider seat (with a back rest). I can pretty much ride all day without any problems. If you are really curious, Ultimate will let you test ride one of their seats, up to 30 days, at no charge if you don't damage the seat. Really great to deal with, and they are interested in satisfaction after the sale, and stand behind their products.

Ultimate's passenger backrest will give your passenger a little bit more room, by reclining them a bit more (about an inch), than does the OEM backrest. My Missus noticed this difference, and LIKES it! :thumbup:
 
ULTIMATE offers 2 seat cuts. 1.Mid-Rider(stock seating configuration) and 2. Tall Boy(puts driver back 2"). Their passenger backrest is cut differently than the BRP. It is both about 1"taller, and sits the passenger back 1". My wife ONLY likes the way she sits on a RDL. Don't have the $$$$$ to go that route. She's OK with the stock seat. At Spyderfest I had an ULTIMATE passenger backrest put on, and got a Misty Mountain full sheepskin. She likes both; but really likes the way the backrest fits her. Happy Wife, Happy Life;););)
 
When i first put on the Ultimate seat my wife didn,t like it because it was different.After a good run approx 3 hours she said it was much better and now loves the seat.We didn,t get the tall boy as im 5ft 7in so she has lots of room.

Simply remove the backrest when riding two up. I occasionally am the passenger when the Princess drives and I have plenty room. 5'10" and 235#--BRP Comfort Seat--2014 RTL

What model? We ordered the Ultimate for our ST limited. ..standard model with the same riding position. The way the seat is made we felt a bit more cramped on the back with the factory passenger backrest. ..plus it seemed to ride a bit higher in back. We went with the can am comfort seat on our ST and are very happy with it.

check out your seat stand beside your scooter 10 feet away and look at it from the side, does the front portion of the back seat slope forward and it's not flat or sloping to the back your passenger will Hate it, A seat that slopes to the front whether it's the front portion or the back portion will always push you forward the rider will be pushed up onto the tank and the passenger will be pushed up onto the front portion of their seat or right into your back that is not a comfortable seat you can alter your seat so that doesn't happen or you can look for a seat that slopes to the rear. this is a daily repair in our shop correcting uncomfortable seats.ride safe and comfortable everybody

We had 2 other big name seat maker on our 3 Spyders before.. But now all using ultimate seats and it's the best!

I've gone long distance without any soreness or back pain due to uncomfortable seat padding

Have the ultimate tallboy seat and added the ultimate passenger backrest just recently,wife noticed a big difference compared to the stock backrest.She says the ultimate wraps around her back better and gives her more room and comfort.
 
To the OP. Yes, my wife is a passenger most of the time as we usually ride 2 up. She finds the Ultimate more comfortable than the original standard seat that was on our 14 RTS. And as others have indicated, the passenger back rest is sculpted differently and does add about 1 inch of extra space. Ours is a mid rider model with a riders back rest also.

Yes, otherwise we won't have 3 Ultimate Seats in all of our Spyders, plus 1 Ultimate for our goldwings.
Prior to Ultimate, he used to complain lower back pain and used Airhawk for travel long distance.. He no longer used it with Ultimate

I have a brand new midrider used less than 500 miles with drivers backrest for sale fits my wife good but I am 6 2 long legged to short for me you can contact me if interested I have pics.

My 14 came with the Ultimate tall boy, so no comparison, but SO has no issue with her space, but she is 135 pounds. I found that it was better if I raised the floor boards, I'm only 5.7". Previous owner was 6'. We have the beaded seat cushion also and no problems.
